HELP! Warped HD disk.. Any hope for revovery?

My hard drive in my PC totally died. I went to boot up the other day, and it made this wierd clicking sound that I had never heard before, and the computer denys the existance of any sort of hard drive. It wont even let me Format C: Me, being the utter dipshit, have never made any sort of backups, so all of my valuable data seems to be in limbo now.

Does anyone know if it is possible to recover my data?

About your only hope is something like this. The heads are shot on your drive - only way of getting the data off is to replace them in a clean room with a temp head and image the data off.

heh... was about to ask the same question... the damn IBM 'DeathStar' is such a bad drive, i had two more fail last month, utter garbage. interesting really, after the class-action lawsuit against them, IBM bowed out of the hard-drive industry altogether..
