It really isn't addictive. I've gone from being high all day long for years to going on month long vacations without a single puff and I didn't even miss it. This has happened at least 10 times, and it's the same every time - no withdrawal. I have no desire to go and try to find weed when I'm on a trip.

People who smoke cigarettes can't even make it through the airplane ride without panicking, and the thoughts of their next cigarette consume them. They delay getting on the plane to have that last smoke, then race to the first place they can light up again after the plane lands. That's addiction.

Right now my wife's parents are here living in my place for a month, I have the best weed of my life on hand (the bag appeal is just ridiculous, like dusted candy I tell you), and I hardly think about smoking it. I'll take a few puffs late at night while they sleep if the wind is right and it won't smell. I normally roll a joint for car rides too, and I haven't even been doing that with them here.

They're from Mexico where weed is a "drug", y'know, like heroin and cocaine.

I smoke and chill out... I just smoke too much, bout to get into tinctures.

Everyone just listen to this and chillax:

I was actually at that concert...

Among the other things I did today, was to edit content for a few updates on my ADG site (and others), including this gallery of pix that was shot at an event which I did last weekend in San Francisco:

As someone who has smoked 10+ joints a day for the past few years I can tell you that weed is pretty addictive. But physically addictive? I'm not too sure about that. I'm currently working on cutting down and the past few days I've only smoked about a joint a day and I'm fine. The mental part does play games with you though.

Funny the reason I'm quitting and the only reason I've ever heard that actually is reasonable to quit weed was something I heard on South Park of all places.

Something like weed makes you okay with being bored. Simple, but true.

I remember hearing all you voodoo doctors pray for rivers
Hours later comes the thunder
Raining showers he delivers
Pheasants fighting through the rain
They're happy that it's finally falling
Tried and true
He's there for you again
But you don't here him calling
Pause your life for mischief
And the mischief becomes life itself
Before you know it
Skin is wrinkled
Teeth are falling like your health
And what to do?
And where to turn?
And who to blame?
And where to go?
You feel the demons pulling at your body
You might as well let go

More than 10 joints a day???

I thought I smoked a lot.... how is that even possible? That's like 300 grams a month or more.

Wow, I agree with Dirty F 100%.

Pot is responsible for around 400 car fatalities per year so that pic is total bullshit. People who say pot is not bad for you are drug addicts trying to rationalize their own use.

I have 2 friends who smoke a lot, morning til night smokers. It doesn't happen very often but when either one of them runs out of grass I am somewhere on their list of people to call to see if I know of where to get any. It's pretty pathetic to hear them talk about how they need to find a bag. Doesn't matter how good, kind buds, mexican brick, etc. If that is not addiction, I don't know what is.

more people die in fatal car accidents due to cell phones than weed. of course there are going to be some incidents with any kind of "mind altering" substance but compared to the legal, socially acceptable ones, its nothing.

as for addiction, like i said before its a mental addiction. if you are an alcoholic, you can die if you stop drinking cold turkey. if your a heroin user, you're going to get the sickness if you stop. with weed, you might be irritable but that's about it. if alcohol was illegal or even chocolate bars, those who use alcohol or chocolate bars every day will probably have a bit of a fit if they run out and can't get more. it has little to do with the substance and more to do with the habit/ritual.

no one talks about making alcohol illegal, while its much more dangerous than weed and causes more problems in society than weed. its compared because people use alcohol and weed for similar things, to relax, to "escape" reality, etc.

You drink alcohol and see nothing wrong with it, apparently don't think it makes you stupid or lazy yet there are so many examples out there that show otherwise but you'll just say 'what does weed have to do with alcohol' to negate any chance of real discussion.

How many people are buzzed or straight out drunk driving home when the bars close? Wayyyy more than the amount of people driving stoned at any time. Some people can't even stand after drinking all night, yet you can smoke weed all day and night and still have all your motor skills and be coherent.

I use medical cannabis practically daily for pain relief, and it helps me cope with my hyperactivity.

When I vape with others, they get damn near comatose, while I actually feel like working (it is especially good for when I am doing tedious/repetitive work, such as photo editing).

As for addiction, I smoked cannabis recreationally nearly daily for 20 years (including the 6 years I served in the Navy), and then suddenly decided to quit, and did so easily for nearly a decade, before starting to use medical marijuana over the past two years due to health issues.

I rarely smoke cannabis these days, and medicate instead with vaporization and edibles.

An interesting side effect is that I quit drinking alcohol around the same time I resumed using cannabis nearly two years ago, and as a result I've lost 85 pounds, and I have made significant health gains.

Great story

I'm no fan of today's weed. It's too fucking strong. That's why when the outdoor harvest comes in a buy enough to last me for awhile. I like being high and feeling mellow. Not really stoned and paranoid.

Alzheimer's runs in my family.. Weed has been proven to fight against it. I smoke. Health reasons. Fuck the haters. Go drink your alcohol and kill innocent people when you drive home, and I'll continue to smoke pot in my apartment and eat food not taking innocent lives and justifying it by saying it's at least legal.

Scum.

At my worst, I was up to a quarter Oz a day.

When I'd run out it was game over.
No sleep, sweats and crazy irritability.

Totally addictive.

with that argument you can say that alcohol didn't kill the people in the drunk driving case, it was the car...

Weed killing people is not why it is illegal either. it's the fact that it kills ambition and drive. If they legalized it nothing would get done ever by these people..

I did but you just say what does alcohol have to do with weed. I told you what it has to do with it. You can keep ignoring what i said or actually respond to it. You can't expect to mention stoners causing accidents, etc without someone bringing up the amount drunk driving accidents and fatalities.

Stop following stereotypes and look at the big picture... So many people are MORE PRODUCTIVE and better to society now that they smoke than they were before...

Watch a few of the documentaries on Netflix... People who couldn't function from pain so bad that no medication worked until they smoked weed and could actually work a job instead of collecting unemployment and shit.

I've also found myself more productive since I started smoking again.

MJ is not illegal because it "kills ambition and drive." lol

People who abuse alcohol daily have no ambition or drive, yet it's perfectly legal.

Glen, it is indeed true it kills ambition For Some.. I would love to see the poor her legalized already, as I smoke every day [it does not mean I am 24/7 high] and it would make me feel comfy, and also to take some pot with myself on my trips, vacations, etc without thinking I am doing something wrong and I can be punished by the local system because of illegal activity. You're assuming here that ganja smokers are all big children and would do this lifestyle for years. This is untrue. I smoke and I get things done, raise kids well as a family-oriented guy, treat my fiancee well, treat my employees well... I Smoke Every Day And I Get Things Done

And I know several fathers/men in my environment who do more or less the same.

Don't blame the Herb. Blame the LAME USERS! [--> true for almost all narcotics, legal or illegal]
