Obviously you have never spoken to a Mexican about this subject. In your desperation to make yourself feel or look smarter you are only demonstrating your ignorance of the culture. Call one of these Mexicans you know (or have you only MET a real live messakin?) and inquire on this subject. And then

I am not at all worried about your perception of my intelligence. One of my Mexican friends speaks four languages, is starting a business in her hometown in Mexico, and was up here for quite some time last year studying US business practices and the effect that NAFTA has had on the flow of goods and money between the three countries.

She certainly realized that Mexico is part of North America.
