DUDE, I tried to watch a NFL game, but tis fuckign boring..

They play 20 seconds, then stop 5 minutes to show off their MOTOROLA HEADSETs and GATORADE brands... then play 10 seconds and stop 5 minutes again!!! WTF??..

Who wants to watch a 3-4 hours game to only watch 60 mins of actual game? That's crazy...

I wouldn't call 36 games with 12 goals and 16 assists as a winger in 2010 winning Seria A done but at the risk of repeating myself, my opinion is that he is technically above anyone, never suggested he is a better all round player than messi. He'd would have had to stop partying for that

What really kills the flow of an American Football game IMO is when they go to a fucking commercial right after a kickoff right after a commercial. They should really stop that shit it is goddamn annoying as hell!

I am an AC Milan fan and i think that 36 games in two years tells you a lot.

Potentially he could have been the most spectacular player in history of the sport.

Yeah and soccer players are all geniuses. Most of them can hardly speak coherently.

You obviously don't know, but you have to be pretty smart to learn an NFL playbook, offensive or defensive.

yes yes, that's a brilliant thing to bring up because we all know soccer players were hand picked by the time they were 6 years old and worked so hard on their educations to never actually get one unlike in football where most of them get their degrees...

maybe if you see things from both sides once in a while you woudln't sound like you were talking out of your ass so often..

I respect your opinion, he was a phenomenal player, I witnessed it first hand against Celtic. The things he did with the ball during warm up were crazy. It's a shame that he let himself go, especially at a team like Milan.

Zidane was a genius, his composure and range of goal scoring ability was remarkable. I remember the World Cup Final in 1998, he tore Brazil to pieces.

American Football players go to college, all of them without exception. Soccer players usually don't even finish high school.

I assumed, being British, you were talking about soccer players anyway( being thick). I'm not sure why people are trying to defend the intelligence of people they don't know and who don't even know they exist.

Anyone who went to school, which admittedly probably rules out quite a few people here, knows the jocks/sporty kids were dumb fucks.

Because they used to play football, or are fans of football and got butthurt I called them stupid. Obv.

And yes, I was talking about British football players being thick. But, I am 100% sure no American Football players are renowned for their glittering intellect. Which is why they get paid for running around in padding and kicking a ball, sometimes.

Living in North America I'm getting more and more into NFL every game I watch, it's a great sport. However, it will never replace Soccer for me. The Soccer game is end to end, attacking, flowing skillful play. The Lions game has been on 12 mins and no one has moved 10 yards yet. I've saw more commercials than game time at this point. Soccer is uninterupted for the entire 45 mins of each half.

Do the hardcore NFL fans really give soccer a chance?
I was brought up watching NFL in the states with my dad, the same like many out of the states were brought up and playing soccer. It is hard to switch interests, I do watch world cup and Olympic soccer matches. I will be getting my daughter playing soccer and tennis in a couple years so I guess I will become more of a fan.

the commercials are only good time to run and get snacks in the kitchen.

300lb yes pound, I won't confuse you with stone. Guys are in "high school" hitting tiny dudes playing rugby from the age of 12 all over the rugby playing world probably the US included, you get a mouth guard and shin pads, end of.

II've seen smashed collar bones, broken noses (like mine), concussions, broken ankles, etc.

Rugby is the most man to man contact sport on the planet other than the martial arts.

Oh wow, land on his ass? hand-egg players land on their ass but it is padded isn't it?

Anyway, why are we even debating this shit? It's all well and good being "hard" until you get fucked by injury or brain damage, then where does it get you?

Lets talk motorsport for another example of why this arguement is pointless, my preference personally is in this order (see how many times I disagree with MYSELF):

1. F1 when the race is interesting.
2. Indy Car when the race is interesting
3. BTCC when the race is interesting.
4. F1 when it is boring.
5. Nascar When the race has crashes.
6. Indy Car when it boring
7. BTCC when it is boring
8. Nascar when it is normal.

It may seem i'm being a cunt torwards Nascar there, but I think it is a great sport. It is just another one of them things!

You have a point, not many of them turn out to be highly educated, especially these days. That is mostly because at 16 years old, kids are already making anywhere from 500-2000 pounds per week, depending on how good they are.

Take the Manchester United kid who made his first appearance recently, 19 years old, I forget his name, he is driving a $150,000 Range Rover. He just got into a bad crash, wrote the car off, drunk driving. He has played 2 games and can afford a car like that, incredible.

You wonder why these kids aren't smart, they know at a young age they have a relatively good chance of making it big, they give up on school and let their talents take them to a life of riches. Fair? no. Do they care? fuck no! Most of them go into coaching, tv work, newspaper work after their career and end up making real good money.

Love soccer/football, but to be honest it would be far better if the goalposts were a few feet wider.
Just enough to have an average of 4 or 5 goals a game, instead of 1 or 2.

You would get more open games, where the better team is more likely to win, and less of the boring defensive play...10 players in the box defending a 1 goal lead.. or trying to hold out for a draw. Screw that.

I would have thought a bigger goal would encourage more defensive play, since losing the ball going forward would virtually guarantee conceding a goal if it was a few feet wider.

They're already massive, IMHO -- if anything, too big -- and more goals does not necessarily mean a more interesting game.

Exactly the point I was going to make. Why not just say goalkeepers can't be taller than 5 feet? It's equally as stupid as saying make the goals wider.

I hate to say it, but anyone that is involved in college athletics, especially football or basketball, is at college to play sports. Most coaches steer their students to easier programs of study so that they can focus more on sports. As for getting school work done, coaches set up tutors and some players find their own way around things. Coaches have even been known to intervene on the students behalf when it involves an overly difficult professor.
