![]() I have a Seaga SM10 small, glass door commercial grade refrigerator. The thing was running flawlessly and all of a sudden it just stopped getting cold. I unplugged it for 24 hours and when I plug it back in I hear a click and the fan does not spin. No ,atter what temperature I set it to, nothing happens. It seems to still be getting power.
I was wondering if there is a reset switch or something inside? It's not here, I need to go pick it up and bring it home to take a better look at it. Any ideas? TIA |

Is the compressor hot to the touch after you hear the click and leave it for a bit? or is it not coming on at all? Could be a relay, or could be that the compressor is shot.

Not sure about that brand but most fans have temperature controlled sensors. First you need to determine is if the compressor is working, you can generally hear or feel a vibration if it is working. You may need to get closer to the back to listen. If the compressor is working it may be the temperature control switch in your fan or the relay. You should also check for abundance of dust accumulation around the filter.

Then, if it seems like the compressor is coming on but then shutting down, put a fan onto it, blowing on the compressor and see if it starts cycling. If it does then your compressor cooling fan is probably screwing up somehow. Another thing to check is to make sure the door is sealing shut when it closes. Dirty or damaged rubber can stop it from closing and the effect is that it seems to not be cooling. If I remember anything else I will add it later. Good luck. .

Get a new fridge... same thing happened to me and the damned fan was cycling hot air and rotting all my food for about 24hours...
You could check the compressor switch, or clean the thing, and do all kinds of home-reno-guy stuff, but ultimately, it will win and you'll have to buy a new one. Or splurge a little and get a pro to look at it and fix it.... :D
