Anybody joined to the demonstration against war in London today?

That was great..

There were 1,5 million people in the streets , walking against war...

If you think that population of London is
7-8 millions then you would understand what it means..

How is that great ???

Bunch of assholes if you ask me...

They interviewed an Iraqi woman at that march and she couldn't believe that people were trying to stop the war. They want it. And yes at the risk of some lives, but their lives are pretty fucked up just now as it is.

They want the war !!! Protestors are making an arse of the whole thing...

2:55am - Time for bed.

did you count the people or something?

Reminds me of the million man march, when there was like really half that amount of people.

That means nothing at all...

In 4008 people could be saying that...

And people are dying every day. In Iraq or elsewhere.
It happens...

We aren't talking millions of lives. Remember, Most Iraqi people want change in the way they live. They know a war, will bring this, even at the cost of lives war always has...

well if they all want to change it then why don't they do it theirselves?

Why does somebody else have to come and do it for them??

Why to give them a fish instead of teaching them how to catch a fish??

How is this great? I don't support all of the current reasons behind the war, but it seems the EU is getting more anti-American every day instead of coming up with some rational arguments against the war.

EU those great defenders of justice.
Defenders of the appeasement of dictators everywhere.

Yep..... it was an awesome victory for peace. I really admire protestors because they had the balls to stick their neck out and be counted in the only way possible.

Peace protest is a right and a lot of those protesters felt that it was the only way to demonstrate their objection to war. What a day it was.

I'm getting a bit bored by this anti-American EU chatter. It is becoming more and more difficult to separate anti-american sentiment from legitimate arguments against removing Saddam/Kim from power.

1.) Saddam is a ruthless dictator.
2.) Kim is a ruthless dictator.

It isn't a question of whether to remove them from power or not, it is a question of when. As their arsenal of available weapons increases, do we simply wait for them to attack immediate targets in their area?

There is a large difference between weapons of mass destruction in despotic regimes as opposed to countries that are attempting to become members of the international community and improve their standard of living (India, Pakistan, China (part of the sino-soviet split was soviet's reluctance to give atomic weaponry to China...China developed them on their own in 1969).

Granted, the Bush administration is not making a good case for a conflict in Iraq; however, that has to do with the complexity of the issues at stake and the stupidity of the general American population (I guess EU as well now).

===>
Everybody wants peace, but peace at all costs today may have horrible long term repercussions in the future.

I thought the EU learned this lesson fifty years ago.

... I donīt support this war either, but if the US invade iraq and get posession of all the oil there, they will surpress chinas rise over the next 30 years or so ... this means I can live another 30 years in peace and harmony ...

I donīt care if the US will become the worlds leading power or not, all that matters to me is my own security and I am too sure live on an US controlled planet is much sweeter than having sadam and friends makeing the rules ...

the protests were full of clinger on groups...anti globalisation, even congestion charge (UK people will know who I am talking about) people were there. The damn fuel price protesters were there....not someone please tell me that I am not the only one that thinks there is something weird with a guy who is bitching about the right to drive a car saying oil isn't important.

I had a night out planned at a hotel in a suburb of London with a large group of my friends. We had to drive around the outskirts of the city and saw the traffic and one of my friends hit is on the head and said 'It was just something to get the housewives out of the home for the day'.

I am all for protesting and I am not particuarly for the war but that protest was just the annual mayday protest put forwards a couple months and with any ant-Blair group attached that could bother to turn up.

I thought it might not be the best place for my American accent to be.
