He's a ruthless dictator in the tradition of Hitler. He's already tried to follow in those dark footsteps.

I wonder if these peace marchers, knowing what they know now about Hitler, would have any reservations about taking him out of power BEFORE he commited the evil deeds he's now notoriously remembered in history for.

No one gave shit how Saddam treated his people until now. There are leaders around the world just as fucked up as him no one cares because they dont have oil. Also comparing Saddam to Hilter is so stupid, Hitler conquered most of Europe and Saddam hasnt really done anything for 12 years. As evil as Saddam is the government is stable there ,take him out and its going to get really crazy. Also if Bin laden is still making tapes and we know he caused 9/11 why arent we finding him. They seemed to drop the ball on that and then forgot about it.

so because he made a stable government he should be left alone? The fact that that stability is based on ruthless oppression and genocide should be overlooked? Most dictatorships are very stable coz nobody dares disagree or oppose them.. syria, libya, n. korea etc. all very stable..

If you think we are going in there because of that, thats funny. We didnt give a shit for 12 yrs now we care lol thats funny.
The only reason they are bringing that up is for people to believe we are going in there for a higher reason. If they took the billions they are spending on the war effort and focused it on our own country, our economy wouldnt be sinking deeper and deeper.

Well many countries did give a shit for 12 years, hence the constant US and UK presence in the region and the sanctions that tried (not very successfully) to bring saddamn around..

Of course not spending billions on a war and investing that money in the local economy would be better for your economy.. but you could say the same thing about nasa and many other drains on the economy..

Zuh? Who didn't give a shit? The UN has been keeping Saddam contained for the last 12 years with air power and sanctions, all the while he was shooting at our planes. Just because it didn't make the news every night doesn't mean we weren't doing anything. Folks don't hear about 99% of what goes on in the world each day, doesn't mean nothing is happening.

And what is this crap about the economy sinking deeper and deeper? The economy is in a recovery, even the Democrats admit that. Just because stock prices are not at those fraud-based inflated levels of the 90s doesn't mean things are in the shitter.

Did anyone notice how the "West" was massing the troops while he was using weapons of mass destruction against the Iranians?

Or Pol Pot was creating the killing fields in Cambodia, a consequence of American carpet bombing the country in the 60s. And you can not do anything but admire the way the US treated the Chinese after their invasion and genecide in Tibet. Giving China "Prefered trading nation status" must have really taught them a lesson.

Their are many more examples, what make Saddam different? Money, power, father, politics.

I saw Tony Blair on BBC world and thought he has a powerful arguement. Then I saw the evidence Colin Powell presented to the world as a justification for a war.

A report that they had found one of the factories producing chemical weapons. The reporters all rushed up there to investigate only to find nothing. Just an ordinary village witha lot of very frightened people. Scared the Americans might bomb them.

The "evidence" had come from a neighboring village. Kurds enemies of the village. Is that the best intelligence they can produce? Did no one have the thought to check it out before Colin Powell announced it to the world? Is this the strength of the "War" arguement? Prove Saddam is a threat and I for one will back the war.

And I have a close relative who WILL fight there at the sharp end.

You usually get quite upset about the troubled children and families in Africa, not having food, proper supplies, education, etc. Don't you care about the Iraqi's too?

Yeah, I heard him talking while I was cruising around, Tony Blair kicks ass, he's telling it like it is. I'm that it put some of those damn protesters in their place

He's true though, nobody really realizes what goes on over there in that country, how his crew murders people every day. I know that if I lived over there, I'd be praying that he was taken outta power.

Did anyone see Dateline last night ?? They had Saddam's son on there, he seemed pretty fucking ruthless, raping women any time he wanted to, fucking asshole.

I was in Desert Storm II as well....but did my bit from the AF side of the house... When we got the word to go home I was in shock cuz we hadn't finished the job and I think the majority of people 'in' at the time felt the same way...

I hope Bush does finish it this time...It appears as if he intends to no matter what...

Don't forget the conspiracy theorists. They'll be out spreading conspiracy theories about how the government didn't fight and save our people.

People love to criticize the government whenever possible. They're damned if they do, damned if they don't. Sometimes they just need to say fuck it and do what they think is best, either way people will still always hate them.

oh, how silly!
here's all the proof anyone with a brain would need.
He's acounted for 10% of his weapons of mass destruction. He invaded a peaceful nieghboring country, the result of that is that he is to disarm himself of ALL weapons of mass destruction, not 10%

I'm so thankful that this country ignores its peace nic know nothings.

Blix said perhaps the most important inspection issue is determining what happened to stores of anthrax, VX nerve agent and long-range missiles that Iraq previously was known to have.

One document suggests that "some 1,000 tons of chemical agent were unaccounted for," but Baghdad has begun to provide more information that could help lead to answers, Blix added.

He said it is Baghdad's responsibility -- "not the task of inspectors" -- to find such evidence, he said.

He said Iraq's al-Samoud 2 model of missile exceeds the range of 93 miles (150 kilometers) allowed by U.N. resolutions. Iraqi officials have said the missile does not yet have a guidance system, which would reduce its range.

Blix also said a small number of empty chemical munitions had been found, "which should have been declared and destroyed."

I did not write this, nor did GW Bush.

true its not about how saddam treats his people. its also not about oil, its about him going into kuwait years ago. leave him alone and he will do it again eventually.

So what some of you are saying is because we can't kill every ruthless dictator out there, we shouldn't do anything about any of them?

That makes as much sense as letting everyone currently in jail free because there are unsolved murders and wanted people at large.

Part of the reason this fight might happen is to insure those protestors HAVE the right TO protest. Whatcha think would happen if those were Iraqi's in Bagdad protesting?? Ahh the days of Viet Nam and flower children... Brings back memories.

protestors never can do anything by protesting.
What they need to be doing is raising money for the homeless or other good causes in the town they live in.
Stop wasting time standing around trying to get on TV.
They are just like the people that "hate" the police, but when those peoples house is getting robbed,
they bitch because the police didn't show up faster..
The Grass is always greener on the other side...
This is to the protesters...
Do something constructive, help your own town, stop bitching!
