I've had to recently fax documents to registrars, billing companies and affiliate programs

It's not that they can't handle the technicalities of e-signed PDFs, but it's been my understanding that there is a different level of legal coverage to faxed documents than to e-mails (at least in the U.S.).

The older people barely know how to use a computer, so faxing is more easier for them

I have an all in one printer, like I would imagine a lot of people here do too. While I don't make use of the feature, it is a fax machine too.

Since the government uses it, and demands you do as well when dealing with them, it has at least another 20 years.

It is amazing that with their near unlimited budget they are so terrible with basic stuff. I was just on the US government patent site this AM. What a pos.

Sometimes it's done for security. Adobe PDF is still vulnerable to trojaned PDF files, so I think some do it for security.

Can't send a keylogger though a fax!

I use TrustFax. Works like a charm. And my printer has a scanning function, so that completes the link. Previously I had to go to Kinkos to fax anything that once a year or so I had to actually do it. WHat a weird technology.

We still receive over 100 documents by fax everyday at our business, even with e-signing. People find it easier to use a public fax then to scan and send their documents.

Ya, my printer is a scanner/fax as well.
The only stuff I really fax are CCBILL split forms & docs to them.
Saves time & beats scanning each one, LOL!

It has been an out dated technology for over a decade now but still yet billing companies and mortgage companies still seem to love the fax machine and use it like its going out of style.

The fax machine brought down the Soviet Union. The government could no longer control the flow of information.
