What sort of power connectors do you have in the states?

I wanna get one of those dell LCD screens, but they don't have them over here in Australia.

I'm worried it won't work over here as we run on 240v and you guys run on 110...

Can anyone tell me what sort of connectors you have over there and/or what I could do to make it over here?

Cheers

There's a reference list, we use the 3rd one down here in Aus.

Many LCD screens run off of power supplied by the computer, don't they? Mine does.

If it is plugging into a wall, a US outlet is ~120V, two flat prongs (parallel), sometimes with a third, round prong.

Glad I can help. You will probably need an adaptor that handles voltage/amps/etc., not just a plug adaptor. Computers have fancy power supplied, but an LCD monitor might just blow to smithereens. ;)

IIRC USA power is also at 60hz compared to the UK/Oz's 50hz, so you'll need a step-down transformer as well so you don't fry anything.

Try one of these (or something simillar. I used a something almost identical to run US import consoles back in the 90s)
