I've seen more real news on this show. I find it amazing that the discourse in this country has fallen to the level of do you like Brittney Spears new hairdoo.

Very sad that the Republicans want to defund NPR and PBS which have the last real, in-depth reporting of social/political news stories and examine the social consequences of the same. Very sad, indeed.

The show is fictional, but the sentiment is spot-on. The newscaster on the show is a Republican. The clips used are not distorted - they are factual statements that were pulled from reality.

If you hate the Tea Party this scene is poignant, but even more importantly, if you are a Republican, this clip is quite powerful and eye-opening. How far has the Republican party truly strayed?

This clip kicks ass, and if it makes you angry, then maybe you need to think about why that is, and who you are really angry at.

Personally I'm all about freedom. The nature of government, and the people that seek office, is growing power over others. That's what they want, that's what drives them. This is why SUPER STRICT limitations on the power of government are so vital, and even then, those limitations are constantly eroded, and must always be shored up. You think that it's ok to give one party more power, but then forget that the other party will have that same power when they take office. And back and forth, ever growing. No government power is ever given up again, and no government agency to control your life, ever goes away. They only grow.

Both sides are doing their best to build up their power over you, and you guys just totally buy into the "those other guys are bad" game while they all quietly take over everything.

By the time everybody figures it out, and we are all just slaves to the political elite, it's going to be very very VERY painful to reset the system and get our freedom again.

We do not have a 2 party system. We have about 50 parties. The people choose the Republican and Democratic parties to be the most popular of the parties. There are are 200 or more people...from various parties...running for President in November but the two most popular ones are from the Republican and Democrat parties.

It is government by the people for the people and this is what the people have chosen.

Yes we do. Alan Sorkin is the writer.

And he is one helluva good writer too. I think the show is great by the way.

But yeah, Sorkin is an extremely liberal Democrat. And the show leans that way very, very hard. But so do most things out of Hollywood.

I love the show. I don't really pay attention to the leftist agenda they are pushing though. The underlying concept that the news should be more pure is very viable though.

However if you're waiting for Jeff Daniel's character to report on Obama's lies or corruption with funneling "stimulus" money to his cronies...or Harry Reid blocking EVERYTHING in the Senate...well, don't hold your breath. The show is very one-sided in it's politics.
