Quality Content vs Outsourced Content
I was involved in the onedollararticle thread and needed to separate my thoughts into a different post. Lots of outsourced material is on the web, including mainstream and adult. It is from India, PI, and other places where groups are producing 50+ articles daily for a small $ and give poor quality generally. I met with a group recently who admitted they bought poor quality and that they were looking for quality vs quantity.
With the Google panda and penguin updates, sites are dependent on getting quality content for traffic and SEO than ever before. Using copied or poor quality content doesn't help your site and drives SEO down. It used to be keywords and meta data, now its content. What separates your site from the rest. I say all this as someone who writers high quality content and price myself at .02/.03 word which is higher than Indian/Pi/writers. I get criticism for this at times, but look at the highest quality and visited sites, and they all handwrite their content. In adult especially, gallery descriptions and FHG descriptions that are unique definitely separates your site from others. The same data is shot to a ton of affiliates but getting it rewritten for your site makes it stand out. Same goes for reviews, blog posts, etc... I'm not saying for $1 you can't get a good article, but its awfully tough and I'm sure those who have bought cheap articles have had to make corrections and all to them. Just my two cents on the topic. Didn't want to hijack the other thread but at the same time share my thoughts on the content argument.

I've heard horror stories about outsourced programming and content writing. I'm sure if you have the time you can sort through the poor performers and find some quality. I guess it all depends on how much time and money you're willing to spend until you find someone that suits your needs.
Of course, there are probably a bounty of horror stories about native English speakers as well. Some of the emails I receive from the text-speak generation are absolutely frightening and require a classroom full of 13-year-olds to decipher.

An observation.... people talking about "quality content" as it pertains to SEO know nothing about SEO. It's not coincidence they are always the ones selling content.
Spun content works just fine and surfers aren't out there in droves looking for an article about a really hot 19 year old getting pounded... but only if its really well written and paints a great mental picture. Quality or "well written content" has never mattered. It can't hurt, but Google isn't out there algorithmically searching for "well written articles" and ranking sites accordingly. In fact, this entire industry in the SERPs is dominated by pages that have little more than a page title and a video title. Will a little planning and keyword research, any idiot here can generate 1000s of wordpress blogs that will almost instantly rank for low-competition phrases. Keep linking them together over time and they will stick. It's not rocket science. It never has been rocket science. There are "XXXXXX ranking factors..." blah blah blah. guess what? in all these years, very little has changed. In bound links, anchor text of those links, volume of inbound links, page titles still matter more than anything.

agree, the masses do enjoy the same type of spun content that fills the web. they goto the site, jerk off and leave. My point wasn't to sell my services, just to comment on the state of content on the web today and adult as well. Googles latest updates are penalizing the duplicate content farms on sites and thats what hurts. SEO matters but so does having the right stuff.

People have been talking about "quality content" for over 10 years. Meanwhile, search engine spammers are still doing the same things again and again to dominate. People have always been talking about how "this time its different... this update is different..." etc etc etc to make their point.
Nothing substantial has changed other than the degrees to which Google improves their ability to identify link spam and devalue those links and penalize sites/pages. The tactics change accordingly (moderating inbound link velocity, spreading them out, buying links etc) but "quality writing" or unique content aren't real factors in ranking for anything. No big phrase in porn is owned by a quality writer.

Someday Google will add a grammar element to their algo. Then we'll see who is crying.
