:2cents Iraq is falling apart.....Bombing in Baghdad Kills 130+, Wounds 600+

Just this morning.....shit is hitting the fan.

It is like trying to hold the lid down on a pressure cooker. As soon as you walk away, it is going to blow..

All that money spent and lives wasted just so these religious freaks would delay their inevitable mutual annihilation.....

We lose, they lose, everybody loses.

This was always the inevitable outcome.
The entry into it was the mistake since getting out of it means this no matter what.

We need to win it to fix it and we can't win it. We simply bought off the Sunni fighters
to make the violence go down so we could look good getting out.
"The surge" was a fraud. It was not a success. It was a temporary payoff to the enemy
fighters to get them to back down for a while.

You are totally right about the pay-offs,.

too bad most sheep think the "Surge" is some sweeping new military strategy that was working.

That place is a lost cause....sad to say but true.

Why is that being " anti-american " .... and on the other hand your non stop bashing of the actual state of the USA not being " anti-american " ....

i really don't have a problem with the sunni payoff. fact is, it worked and continues to work as we escalate our withdrawal of troops and continue paying cash. i believe we will prolly end-up paying a shitload of cash for a long time too, that's totally fucked but the alternative is royally fucked.

events such as the carbombings will happen as we transition out and the iraqi army fills those voids.

their army is proving to be competent, maliki is as well.

all from my understanding of the current events, views,, assesments.

I have no problem with the pay-off except acting like it was "troop surge" that
made the difference instead.
Troop surge credit implies that we "defeated significant forces and removed them".

The Iraqis were just waiting for the US forces to leave so they can settle their
differences amongst themselves. Expect fighting to continue at least until
Iraqis believe no "US puppets" are still in place.

We can't beat them and we can't join them.....so get the fuck out.
A major blow to the ego maniacs that think the simple possession of high tech
weapons means we can instantly stomp the shit out of everybody.
These type people are fucking fools and we need to kick them to the curb politically
to prevent future cluster fucks like we have in Iraq.

Fight when you have to, not just because you can.

well, the military can't really advertise it has put sunni bad guys on the payroll.
also, not a lot about successful military strategies is revealed anywhere close to real-time,

plus, i believe, if the true nature of the *secret* tactic used during the surge was officially revealed, it would become a distraction to the withdrawal. which is moving forward and entering into an accelerated phase, as planned.

so, in a round-a-bout way, i kind of advocate the official story. while i disagree with the lack of transparency the government operates under, i can see how the military needs it.

lose? shit some would argue that getting the billions of dollars out of that fucking albatross and bringing some of that money home (shit ain't exactly rosey in the US of A right now) would be considered "winning". dick cheney and anyone with blackwater or halliburton stock may want this damn charade to go on but the majority of people are like wtf. and frankly, eight fucking years later has anyone still defined what "winning" is? i mean really, what is the trigger point that says we're done. the war pimps hit a fucking home run at the cash register with this one. iran certainly thanks us for putting them back in the national spotlight.

You frothing wingnuts are so eager to suck iraqi cock that it's amusing AND predictable.

Thanks for turning iraq into western iran you idiots. Oh and thanks for spending trillions to make iraq a slave state of iran too.

It's not like we had any use for that money.

(cue the frothing wingnut response - "we didn't spend trillions, it's just been 700 billion so far." Yeah, and when you buy a car, it only costs a thousand - for the down payment, you lying sacks of shit.)

The iraqis haven't even signed the oil laws in yet - they are just waiting til we leave, then they write new oil laws, not the stuff we had the republican bosses, the multinational oil corporations, write for them.

Thats the one thing we can be sure of - one thing that bush taught us - republicans can't win wars.

The thing is that the only way things are gonna calm down over there is if you put someone like Sadam back in charge over there. That guy was brutal, BUT I can bet you that shit like this didn't go on when he was running things, he knew what the fuck he was doing. Back then when I'd hear the stories of how he was, I thought he was awful, but now looking at it, it was probably the only thing that got through to those people, you fuck with Sadam and you're dead.

how much money has been pumped in that "war" since the beginning? and why wouldn't it be better of spent in homeland? - all who make/support wrongful decisions in past must be pulled out of governmental positions, till then we continue to fuck ourselves and some more.

The last estimate I read said the cost of the Iraq war is somewhere in the area of 700 billion.

One of the healthcare bills they are debating right now would cost around 800 billion over 10 years.

So we could either pay for the Iraq war, or health insurance for every citizen for the next 10 years. Pretty crazy.

Religion sucks and typically in everyone there are extremists. Typically they can be kept under control mainly by them being isolated from the others. The Middle East is nothing more than several different Religious extremist groups that meet head on trying to destroy each other since the beginning of recorded time.

holy shit

It's inevitable. The U.S. military is not designed to fight guerrilla warfare, rather conventional warfare (traditional methods of battles, i.e. tanks, jets, naval ships, etc). And if you look historically in guerrilla warfare the guerrillas usually come out on top.

Not a big deal. Who counts 'em? They must be happy because the US army brought them something called REAL DEMOCRACY (in exchange for their oil which was a fair price IMHO). I think it won't be a big price if every Iraqi man, women and child will die because they will die as a FREE and DEMOCRATIC people but not like barbarians
