It pretty much does when people use the tools available to them...which seldom happens. I seriously doubt that 10% of people even know the name of their congressman and doubt that 1% has ever contacted their congressman. That is not due diligence in their role of "for the people and by the people".

people in general. not particularly yourself. for the most part, nobody does anything but bitch and stress, i don't want to hear it anymore

we can't do anything about it because the people we elect don't represent us

If they do not represent the majority then that becomes the fault of the people. Of course one of the problems is with the size of our population. Many if...not most...of the things the government does has a relatively low majority approval so it leaves well over one hundred million unhappy people.
