Let me spell it out again for you Damian.

There are more than 20 people who collaborate on this effort every day. Not a day goes by where we don't shut down payment processing, have hosting suspended or terminated, have Facebook pages and accounts removed, have Twitter accounts terminated or perform some other action of mitigation against the pirates.

It's a massive job, yet every day the same people are working together behind the scenes to make life difficult for the pirates. Most of what we do we don't announce, we've always had a policy not to talk about ongoing matters and that policy is firm.

Right now all you are is an uninformed bystander throwing stones, because we know that you've been bagging this project from the very beginning.

Yes of course, you would say that - ignoring the history in this thread. We have shut down plenty of large file lockers - just because you haven't heard of them has no bearing on their size.


Two of the examples posted above have been without credit card merchant accounts for months and have been resorting to using unrelated entity merchant accounts or not processing payments at all when those accounts are shut down. You'll observe when that happens because suddenly all the uploaders start bitching about shaving. It takes time to kill enterprises with millions of dollars at their disposal.

I've always maintained going after end users is pointless, it's going after the sites that service them that's effective.

"Killing off File Lockers", at least from my point of view, isn't about stopping file sharing. It's about stopping those that are making money by paying people to post files so they can make money on memberships for that content. Posting files for profit isn't sharing it's a business enterprise. Those kinds of businesses should be shut down. I don't even think the core groups in the actual fire sharing communities have any respect for file lockers. I have no idea why these two ideas get grouped in together.

Since this thread started you've railed against the idea, why is that ?

Undoing almost 10 years of unchecked piracy is going to take more than a year or two - especially when some of the largest pirate sites make millions of dollars and can leverage that money to keep switching merchant accounts or hiding behind other entities for processing.

Even the process of identifying a new merchant account can take a couple of months, so 6 merchant account switches takes a year of investigation as each one is found and then shut down - and I can assure you we're nowhere near a satisfactory level of merchant account mitigation because the card associations and their networks mean that dealing with these issues is extremely complex.

If a file locker pops up with Paypal, Moneybookers, TrueMoney, Payza then we can shut that down right away - in a day or two. With merchant accounts it takes months. We're working to improve that time frame and this involved lobbying, which is why Adult IP was formed.

Anyway, I keep coming back to the same question - why are you so obsessed ? You don't produce content, you don't really have a serious role in relationship to rights ownership, so what's in it for you to keep bagging this effort ?

If you think that somehow we're going to stop what we're doing - then you're going to be disappointed.

What I do know though is, that its not doing the opposite, any harm.

To put it in layman's terms,

Copy Control is not a licensed private investigation company legally able to look into open share folders, take screenshots, legally post screenshots, download copyrighted files or obtain offending IP addresses or names.

Mum's the word due to a majority of Copy Controls compelling evidence is obtained illegally. On a few occasions Adultking was instructed to remove & suppress his illegally obtained screenshots and information off these forums.

I don't believe that Rudy has gotten himself into any more trouble relating to UltraMegaBit, what has happened is that despite Rudy's bravado he's run out of merchant accounts. UltraMegaBit.com is tainted. However redirecting from UltraMegaBit.com to UPLOADTO.US will not assure the continued access to merchant accounts as even today, a Sunday, we've put in place measures to continue to apply the pressure.

With all that said, Rudy and his mates are standing on train tracks and a great big hulking steam train is heading toward them - they are just too cocky to realise what the big picture will result in for them.

Interesting theory, it would certainly explain a few things.

We deal with such large numbers of sites through our systems that we're closing sites every single day. We also close Facebook, Twitter, VK, Instagram, Tumblr, Blogspot and other accounts.

Here's the very beginning of our piracy sources database, the ones with a red dot are considered terminated, the ones in green are still active and the ones in orange are unreachable pending termination.



I've stopped posting the long lists of blogs, forums and file lockers shut down here simply because it's pointless to keep posting lists of domains that people say they have never heard of - even if they are high ranking sites in Alexa.
