I knew it was to good to be true. I went to irs.com and it said "do your taxes online with the easy to use program that does all the math!". Then it sent me to HrBlock.com. I went through about 10 pages and the fucker just stopped working.

All these stupid 1099 things burn nicely in the fireplace.

What is the chance of them finding out if I skipped some of the 1099's? |

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I've asked this question before, and could not get a "real" answer (as opposed to joke responses)..so here it goes in here:

How do e-processors get away with not having to file a 1099? I had been with only Lancelot Security until they went out of business last September. Every year they sent out a 1099 and so it was fairly simple to do self employment taxes (if you can call our tax system simple). Now, I'm on my 3rd different processor (oh it's so much fun out there these days), and was really stunned when I was told ccbill, Ibill, etc have never sent out 1099s. How the heck do you figure out your taxes and what do you do if you get audited without the 1099s to support your estimates? (Probably showing my ignorance on self employment taxes here). |

1099's is just a paper,, you as a business person is suppose to keep records of all your income,, there would also be lots of instances for income that you wouldn't get an 1099 for,, ie small programming or web design,, or maybe sold of some stuff on ebay in reality 1099's are mostly used for the business to write off's |

The explanation on another webboard from someone who asked the 1099 question basically said that WE hired ccbill or ibill to do a service for us, that technically we should send them a 1099 for their service fee.

So, which way do we look at it? I made 100k gross, they took 15%, did I make 100k with 15k in expenses? Or did I make 85k? *numbers made up |
