Well I don't know a ton about politics, because I don't want to...

I do know a bit about spooks, tho. I was attached to several units during my tenure. IF THE CIA SAYS ITS A BAD IDEA....I WOULD THINK IT WOULD BE A GRAND IDEA

My experience with them was they were bumbling idiots who couldn't fight, didn't think past yesterday and were a royal pain in the ass. They have been the laughing stock of the intelligence community for quite some time. I know SF took British intelligence more seriously than ours.

On Iraq...well

1. They did harbor Abu Nidal for fifteen years, during which he carried out numerous terrorist schemes. that would seem to support the notion that they support terrorrism.

2. They have shown themselves to be serial agressors, at least Iran and Kuwait think so.

3. If we were after Iraq for the oil we would be better off annexing Kuwait as their reservers far exceed Iraq's...to date, I haven't heard any complaints from Kuwaiti's about our stealing oil.

4. All the arguments about doctors, and whatever or irrelevent to this particular point.

5. Our CIA royally fucked up in North Korea...we have no options with them, they have several nukes that they can lob in on Seoul, so we find outself in a pretty sticky situation with them. We can't attack them, we are "stuck" having to bullshit them.

6. Wait a few years and we will be in the same situation with Iraq, it's generally a good idea to deal with bad guys from a position of strength not weakness.

7. I really don't care about what Muslims think about the USA, my hope is they will stay where they are and pitch a bitch...they don't seem to be the most rational bunch of people on Gods green earth and I don't want to listen to them. That whole Nigerian affair and Ms. Universe competition speaks volumes about rationality.

8. Someone ought tell the Palestinians to knock it off too. They never had any fucking land...all this hype about their homeland is pure bullshit, the land they claimed as theirs was lost during the 7-day war and belonged to Jordan, Eygpt and Syria. So they can shut the fuck up, too.

I think that abouts covers it.

For God's sake, all we've heard about in the last week is how the Germans, along with their stinking French pals, don't want to get into an armed conflict with Iraq. Everyone know the real reason why: both countries have large investments in that hell-hole, and they don't want to lose their jack. But, that's the interesting contradiction here: the Germans, a nation run by a bunch of socialist environmentalist flower children, have investment capital tied up in a very dangerous area.
