Thats pretty funny Lens, it looks like you can buy a $10.00 gift certificate for $15.00

Also in the their long description they say, "You will be charged a $1.00 handling fee for each certificate purchased"

so for $16.00 you get the $10.00 gift certificate..

lens - looks like a waste of a nickel in eBay listing fees. Maybe the auction lister needed the nickel as a writeoff lol

Don't really see any "collector" value in buying a $10 gift certificate for $15 unless the restaurant is out of biz and it's just a souvenior thing.

WTF

What's wrong with just giving some one $10 and tell them "Go buy a meal"

Wonder how many takers they will get??

Maybe it's a rare gift certificate(?). You know, like that famous stamp where the plane was printed upside down.

Yeah, look here: http://www.restaurant.com/gardenrestaurant/

They have two for sell at that price - both on eBay.

Great concept. The gift certificates are sold below their actual cost, and that gives great promotion to them (if someone buys one, they'll eat there and probably spend more - besides that, people will also come back if they like the restaurant).

The $15 buy now thing is just to discourage people from buying them very quickly and thus using it everywhere they go, now, they have to wait.

It costs extra to list a BIN price. They could have just left out the BIN and let the auction ride out.

They should have set the buy it now at $25,000. That way, they'd only have to sell one certificate!

I think the point to the auction is to advertise the restaurant, not to sell the certificates.

But I don't understand the buy-it-now price either.
