yeah it is indeed about oil! but it is quite clear to a neutral observer like myself that it is the UK that is right and the Argentinians that all of a sudden want to get falklands back because they found oil

Argentina obviously is acting really immature and irresponsible. The UK has no choice but to make it clear they are serious. I don't think the UK wants another falklands war but it is not too clear if Argentina feels the same. They make it look like they are willing to take over Falklands by force if they are not given the oil money.

there has been some talk back and forwards about falklands for quite some time. Argentina even said they wanted to use slogans on all their Olympic jerseys this summer in London

Uk's stance always has been very clear. The people that live on Falklands can decide for themselves if they want to be part of UK or part of Argentina. If time and time again they vote pro UK and against Argentina it seems quite clear what they want..

btw, I live in Argentina and admit there's some kind of political move for the masses, but in all honesty, I couldn't care less about who keeps that shit hole. Let's back up here a little bit.

Seems to me that in 1765 the islands were claimed by the British. Also seems to me that Argentina wasn't even a country at that time; I don't know my South American history that well but it seems to me that in the early 1800s Argentina was owned by Spain? In the 1820s the country that was to become Argentina granted the entire chain of islands to one man, even though there were British settlers on the island.

So I utterly fail to see how Argentina has any claim here what so ever. It was claimed by the British long before Argentina was even a country, and when Argentina did lay claim to it the main island had British settlers on it. Seems to me Argentina is the one who invaded. And all of this is pointless because possession is in fact nine tenths of the law, and the British occupy the island.

Setting the dispute aside, it's comical how the military of governments just went to see in search of new islands and claimed them for their own country.
