How is google doing this?
Have domains that are 6 years old or older I am starting to roll out.
1) no inbound links. 2) No submission to google or anyone other than creating a statcounter project. Just changed the DNS at moniker after creating a url directory on a virtual account on webair and google is visiting me in less than 24 hours! How did it know I existed? |

You typed the domain into your browser while on a google page and they traced it... or vice versa

No I don't use chrome HOWEVER Cyberhustler may have hit it. I am sure out of habit I may searched the domain name.
So a new "submit" is to do a search. May be a good additional way besides twitter and Facebook to drive a bot to scan new pages (and URLS) or rescan what existed. Will test another url by searching on my Android. |

It would make sense for google to pay to be notified for any new domain registered.
I'm not saying they do but it would sure make sense to spider new domains before other search engines even know they exist.

Blackmosters these are OLD domains that were sitting dormant. I first thought the DNS change could have been it, but now I am sure it was the search.
I will test 2 more domains in a few weeks. One with a google search from my pc the other through my droid and see which hits first. |

I have a site that was #1 for the search term it is the domain of, and it has no inbound links whatsoever. Never has had, yet Google happily sends it traffic.

it was being done. Why would google crawl domains from search when people type in all kinds of shit? Seems more efficient to get tapped into the domain record update system and crawl any new or updated records. When I reg a new domain it is crawled within a few days and I don't search on it because it shouldn't even be there yet. A DNS change is a logical time to crawl an existing domain because it often means a new site owner and new content or no content because the site is not up yet.
