Paypal Now Ok To Process Adult????

I am reading Paypal's acceptable use policy, and I see nothing prohibiting adult transactions other than what I have bolded below (part H):

Quote:
You may not use the PayPal service for activities that:

violate any law, statute, ordinance or regulation.

relate to transactions involving (a) narcotics, steroids, certain controlled substances or other products that present a risk to consumer safety, (b) drug paraphernalia, (c) items that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity, (d) stolen goods including digital and virtual goods (e) items that promote hate, violence, racial intolerance, or the financial exploitation of a crime, (f) items that are considered obscene, (g) items that infringe or violate any copyright, trademark, right of publicity or privacy or any other proprietary right under the laws of any jurisdiction, (h) certain sexually oriented materials or services, (i) ammunition, firearms, or certain firearm parts or accessories, or (j) ,certain weapons or knives regulated under applicable law.

relate to transactions that (a) show the personal information of third parties in violation of applicable law, (b) support pyramid or ponzi schemes, matrix programs, other "get rich quick" schemes or certain multi-level marketing programs, (c) are associated with purchases of annuities or lottery contracts, lay-away systems, off-shore banking or transactions to finance or refinance debts funded by a credit card, (d) are for the sale of certain items before the seller has control or possession of the item, (e) are by payment processors to collect payments on behalf of merchants, (f), are associated with the sale of traveler's checks or money orders, (h) involve currency exchanges or check cashing businesses, or (i) involve certain credit repair, debt settlement services, credit transactions or insurance activities.

involve the sales of products or services identified by government agencies to have a high likelihood of being fraudulent.
violate applicable laws or industry regulations regarding the sale of (a) tobacco products, or (b) prescription drugs and devices.
involve gambling, gaming and/or any other activity with an entry fee and a prize, including, but not limited to casino games, sports betting, horse or greyhound racing, lottery tickets, other ventures that facilitate gambling, games of skill (whether or not it is legally defined as a lottery) and sweepstakes unless the operator has obtained prior approval from PayPal and the operator and customers are located exclusively in jurisdictions where such activities are permitted by law.
Part H says that only "certain" sexually oriented materials are prohibited. This brings up at least two issues:

1. not all adult sites are "sexually oriented"
2. if they use the word "certain" that means at least some sexually oriented sites are still ok...otherwise, Paypal would have prohibited ALL sexually oriented sites....not just certain ones.

So does adult site subscriptions or individual paid file downloads work with Paypal now? Anyone know?

Whether they allow it or not, I receive a lot of Paypal payments from sponsors and have gotten many Paypal payments for adult services for awhile now. As long as you're not stupid about it, Paypal can be great for adult. I trust them more then any service such as Paxum.

Agreed.

Paypal allowing 'adult' is nothing new, it's been that way for years. You have been able to sell adult tangibles for as long as I can remember. The issue with adult has always surrounded digital goods" (i.e. porn memberships) you were not allowed to sell.

I am not to sure I would want to take that chance with PayPal ... I've read many horror stories concerning suspended accounts and frozen funds for the most stupidest reasons ...
I do a lot of Ebay shopping ...
I would totally flip out ...

If it's 'digital' anything to do with adult, the answer is NO. You should not use them.

I do not know that I would risk tangibles either based on their history, but many report all is well in that regard and no real issues. It seems they want tracking numbers, which is not so bad from their point of view on the processing side of the coin.

I had a glass dildos sites for 3 year and processed a lot with them (xxx xxx$) and never had issues.... spoke often with them over phone to fix small issues and they were ok with that....

If you want process with them why you dont just ask them instead of posting on gfy asking??? You gonna probably wait 30 min on the phone but you will get a straight answer.

And now they will hold your money for at least 3 months if not 6. If you withdrew to your bank account call them and put a Stop payment on the account to paypal right now or they can with draw money.

You will need to threaten them to get it released in 90 days, otherwise they will hold it for 6 months by default. That is how they work.

Once you have properly threatened them, they will have someone from executive appeals contact you and make you an offer. It will be something to the effect of... holding your account for 90 days to make sure there are no disputes, charge backs, etc.. If you do not have them (regardless if you've never had a single one in 10 years) they will then ask you contact them again, and they will cut you a check, or deposit into the bank listed on your account.

Unless you do what they ask of you to remove the limitations. I've dealt with it multiple times in the last 10 years with various businesses and have never had a dime "stolen" from Paypal.

They held our money for six months and would never even clearly specify what their issue was, much less any way to "remove the limitations". There was only a notation along the lines of "possible adult related transaction". I can only guess that means we received a payment from someone who had an adult site, so they suspected we might be somehow related to the adult industry. (We don't run any sites.)

After that, they said they were starting to allow some adult related transactions again. I don't trust them, though, because they allowed it before too, then one day changed their policy and started freezing everyone's accounts.

Paypal allows non-high risk adult related transactions. They don't allow for "high-risk" because they are not approved by the credit card associations for doing them. This was included with my correspondence with them:

"We appreciate your concern regarding our Acceptable Use Policy in
regards to adult materials. Unfortunately, adult digital material and
services are considered a high risk business by the credit card
associations and other regulatory bodies, which would require us to
charge a great deal more to all of our customers if we sought to change
our Acceptable Use Policy to allow these business models. "

So affiliate payments= not high risk
Physical goods shipped= not high risk

We process Paypal in Traffic Force and so far so good. Our accounting department called them beforehand to make sure it was acceptable and the word was yes it's fine. I still wouldn't recommend anyone put anything Porn related in the description or anywhere else.

What Paypal told me is they won't process for virtual goods like memberships or VOD, but you can process for specific products like sex toys or adult dvds.

They Process lots of filesonic memberships that are purchased to download adult material stolen from the content creators. But, they won't process for the sites that are being stolen from.

PayPal did always alow "some erotic material" being playboy calendars and vintage postcards and stuff.
But if they see that you used it for billing any porn website or porn service like on a webcamsite you will loose your account, and wont be able to make a new account. Thats what happened to me in 2005 and no way to open a new account.

Not true, I had my account access limited and then frozen for 7 days when my Paypal account was hacked, once Paypal figured out what happened they returned all funds to me that was stolen and granted me back full access. It all depends on what is going on with your account.

Some of us remember when the VP of Paypal came to Phoenix Fourm. This was before when no on knew who PayPal was. I spent a week changing over the Lightspeed pages to include them, and then they pulled out a month later. Fuck that.

I got a solution for you.. start a fake 'file sharing service' (see wupload, filesonic etc) where the only files being shared will be yours. Set up a pricing model which you prefer (30days for $10, 1 vid for $1), upload your stuff there, and you are good to go..

You bring up a valid paradox. Technically, paypal does process adult on an enormous scale.

Yap you just need to hide it behind something, so you can't process it directly

However i have sent them my scanned ID and driver licence and tomorrow i`m going to my local bank for a credit card statement. I will scan it and send them too and we will see what`s next.

It doesn't matter what their policy says.

If you give them a reason they can shut you down regardless

Adult is a reason. It doesn't mean they won't let others process adult. They may just decide to stop you personally for it.

If your Paypal is hooked up to a bank account you can keep a $0 balance in Paypal and when you purchase on eBay (using Paypal of course) it will automatically take from your bank account. I don't leave a dime in Paypal and buy shit on eBay all the time.

? It was only a few months ago my account was held because I tried to use it for transactions with selling our dvd online...

I can't believe adult items such as photosets are sold on ebay

Years ago when our accounts were held after they stopped supporting adult, they paid it back with interest. No matter what this is not epassporte. However, I'm sure if they feel you purposely are trying to get around their rules they can hold your money. The best thing to do is just call paypal and ask & if approved, be sure all of it is documented.

adult site with paypal will be gone before you can 1.2.3
Tangibles such as sex toys or services such as banners for adult sites are fine
