Perhaps I'm missing something here. I thought that the OWS movement was all about giving to those who have less? Does that only apply when they use the government to force others to give to the less fortunate? Shouldn't they start by volunteering to give to those who have less than they do? Something doesn't add up here....

Its not a homeless shelter, it is a protest for a cause. Most of the people down there are drug addict homeless people that are just coming for the food and other free shit. They found guys who just got released from prison down there for the free meal. People who can care less about the cause.

I'm not sure what OWS is "against" or what they are for. They seem to be against "big business" but can't live without their iPhones, and they also seem to have no objection to paying $6 for a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

When this first started, I remember watching an interview where the protester was using an iMac and drinking Starbucks. She asked a few great questions, and then asked "Is stock in Apple up or down today". The protester was dumbfounded and failed to understand how the question was relevant. The next question was "How much did you pay for that cup of coffee" and the protester looked at him with stink eyes. It was comical.

So let me see if I understand this correctly... OWS is against freeloaders, but want to take the money away from the big corporations and the 1%, and give that money to.... People who haven't earned it? (i.e. "freeloaders").

i think they are upset with the loopholes that the rich have and that regular people don't

corporations for example allow you to pay expenses with pre tax dollars while regular people have to pay them with after tax dollars

corporations pay lower income taxes when regular people do

and so on

it not about taking money away from one group and giving it to another it about taking away the preferential treatment so that everyone has a equal chance to get rich.

once your rich those tax loopholes make it easy as hell to get even richer

while the reverse is also true once your poor it hard and harder to dig yourself out of that whole even if you get a good job.

What they are not doing is turning away homeless people. In fact they're still feeding anyone who shows up. And for their efforts, and the efforts of the volunteer kitchen staffs at every occupation, I think we should extend a big thank you to them.
