DST makes sense for any country far enough away from the equator where there is a change of sun pattern through out the year. Places near the equator it's around 12/12 hours of light/dark year round so it doesn't make sense to adjust clocks.

No word of a lie.. my mrs & I woke up yesterday to find her watch already moved back an hour... like WTF hows that for strange!? We had a drink the night before but not enough to not remember! Well fucked up

@the thread.. So that means, driving from say finland into st petersburg & the time would change like 2hours just a 20miles down the road... What happens for those that work in the next time zone!

it was meant to help farmers, allowing them to get out earlier.

Although proposed for years, DST was 1st in effect by The Brits, in World Ward I, to save coal needed for electric lights.
Fell out of favor, the the Brits adopted it again, for WW II, (Which became Double War Time), more so factories would run in daylight and not be targets, with lighted factories targets for night-time German bombers.

I wish the US would follow suit and keep the clocks ahead on DST too. I'd rather have the extra daylight in the evening so the days seems to last longer and I get more daylight for late afternoon filming than to have the sun come up extra early like five or six am while I am still sleeping.

instead of turning them BACK an hour, they should go ahead. so instead of the sun going down around 6 now, should be later.

during the summer months, when its lighter out, I will often leave to go to the stores and buy shit at 8pm when its still light. now when its dark at 7pm i feel that i need to say in.

the rescission is because of DST
