DST makes sense for any country far enough away from the equator where there is a change of sun pattern through out the year. Places near the equator it's around 12/12 hours of light/dark year round so it doesn't make sense to adjust clocks.

DST is sheer crap ... it was meant to "save energy" way back in ... ehh - stoneage? ... fuck it; it only screws up sleep ... belch

Although proposed for years, DST was 1st in effect by The Brits, in World Ward I, to save coal needed for electric lights.
Fell out of favor, the the Brits adopted it again, for WW II, (Which became Double War Time), more so factories would run in daylight and not be targets, with lighted factories targets for night-time German bombers.

I wish the US would follow suit and keep the clocks ahead on DST too. I'd rather have the extra daylight in the evening so the days seems to last longer and I get more daylight for late afternoon filming than to have the sun come up extra early like five or six am while I am still sleeping.

This time changes are total crap, especially when you have little kids, try to tell a baby to sleep one hour more or less all of a sudden. Its fucked up and there is no reason to continue with this bullshit shifts. Russians have it right for once.

i've never fully understood the current purpose of daylight savings time..

fact: sun light makes people happy. darkness makes them sad

instead of turning them BACK an hour, they should go ahead. so instead of the sun going down around 6 now, should be later.

during the summer months, when its lighter out, I will often leave to go to the stores and buy shit at 8pm when its still light. now when its dark at 7pm i feel that i need to say in.

Me either. Lived in Arizona where they don't do it, and it was kind of nice. Didn't seem to make much sense to me but whatever.

I hate the time changes too. Its fucking depressing when its pitch black dark at 5pm.
