WTF? I see a lot of drama here but I checked to see more than 1 affiliate that owes more than 100 bucks... I didn''t see any.
Just adapt that it is is 2011 now...
It is not <2005 anymore... The days that they made 5-12 sales per day are over now!
A good day will be 5 but an average one will be 1-2...
This kind of sites does not sell anymore.
Offcourse they should pay their affiliates but Biggy has explained why this is not the case. If it should be profitable they should have kept the affiliate program. But it is very difficult to get sales nowadays so they decided to stop the affiliate program.
I would never do biz with the owners (Melissa + Shane). I dont' like the idea to get screwed in the ass and the affiliates are getting screwed but for how much? 6? 9? 50? ok that is too much but keep going on with the work and keep in mind to do not anymore biz with Melissa and Shane
The site will still get some sales from typeins but it will be dead soon.
Just pull your links (as asked by Biggy) and keep on working on other projects!

my 5 year old solo site still hits 5 sales a day off and on which is why i say Melissa's site is still making Shane decent money. Unless for some reason Melissa's site doesn't have the staying power mine does - could be, the site i'm talking about is more 'teenie' than Melissa's so maybe that helps. i don't know.I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. You should be releasing addresses and numbers for the affiliates who find the need to file small claims. Business is business and any affiliate that is owe money has the right to file claim.
They're obviously out of the business and won't be seen again, so fuck it....what's there to protect exactly?? What are you trying to salvage with them? Doesn't make sense.

I have said it before. What you construe as me defending them isn't me defending them. I simply said I am at peace with it and happy for my run that I had, and they ran into their issues.
Outsourced workers for making recycled FHGs, recycling tour updates, etc. Marian from Marian Design was doing it for me. Many old schoolers know her. There were other expenses I picked up too, to run the sites, but I am not going to post every detail here.

What you see isn't arrogance, although I know to someone who has no real experience running a successful operation it can be construed that way. What you see is me exposing truthful and accurate knowledge over you against your speculation and MIS-INFORMATION to attempt to prove a further non-valid point, and me communicating it in a way that is meant for the smart people in this industry to see, not the haters who aren't even owed a penny. To a lot of people, I am making a lot of sense, primarily the people who are successful in the business - the people I actually care about. The people who understand the basic tenants and principles of how business functions, nd the unfortunate circumstances around basic closure.

A lot of affiliates seem to think they can go out, use content that doesn't belong to them, and whip together any page to promote someone else, without bearing the cost of shooting anything themselves. I know everyone who there is to know in this business. Usually when I catch someone, I know them, which makes it that much more air tight.

No the domain is still needed to run the sites for as long as possible. They need to milk those signups and re-bills for as many years as possible.
The sites didn't close. They just closed the affiliate program and cut off all payments owed to affiliates along with all re-bills. They are keeping everything that comes in for themselves and leaving everyone else out in the cold for the Holiday Season.
