What's weird is since panda, the blogs I abandoned get just as much or more G traffic while the ones I continually update saw a 20-30% drop. It makes no sense.

I still don't understand the Panda update...Most of my blogs received some good traffic since the update but I had a good money making blog suddenly drop almost all traffic for 4 days...and then the traffic came back...and then went back to nothing for almost a week, and now it's back receiving tons of traffic. Not complaining, it's just weird.

I've never made any real money with splogs. The updates are usually garbage. Just running a few hand written, frequently updated blogs will make you a lot more money than a whole network of splogs.

I also just got started using Linkspun. It amazes me how many total junk sites and blogs there are out there muddying up the porn water. Even if they do have a decent page rank.

Overall everything has gone pretty smooth, although I have run into a couple of clueless fucks.

A guy requested a link from one of my PR2 sites. The guy only has PR0 sites available. I stack 2 of his PR0 links for my PR2 link, not noticing that he says NO Stacking in his profile. He denies the trade and bitches me out for not reading his profile. I respond to him that it is a fair trade and ask what he expects for my PR2 link. He tells me to fuck off and blocks me.

Had another guy counter 2 requests I made to him for links from PR0 sites. He stacked 2 PR2 links from me on one and 1 PR2 and a PR1 on the other. I sent a message to him questioning the rational of his requests, but no answer for several days, so I denied the trades.

Right there with you, brother. I have offered many a time to buy someones rotting blog only to have them refuse to sell… Then after 2 years and no updates, 2 points less in PR and an Alexa rating that deteriorated from 300,000 to 2,000,000, they finally want to sell… But now I could make a blog from scratch and submit it to Twan’s directories and achieve more traffic, PR and sales in 2 to 3 months than I could trying to resurrect their blog… and ultimately make more cash doing it too…

Hahaha I have a teen blog which I never updated for months but the traffic went up. It has more out bound links than incomming links. Done next to no SEO or promotion on it at all and the traffic still keeps rising Last months UV was 21,058

So updating the blog means fuck all according to shitty google

You dont need frequent updates or any seo crap or promotion. The main thing you need is hand written unique content and not just with pics Bounce rate counts more than anything with google now That is why the tubes are ranked so high because users stay on the site to watch the movies.

What is a frequent enough update in your opinion? Once a day, weekly, couple times a month? I've never put much effort into the adult blog thing much because yeah did the feed thing back in the day and it was nothing but link codes that didn't work and I just moved the fuck on to mainstream.

But I need to get back to adult and spread some smut around, and text is the best for sales. I dig the motivation thanks.

Dont make a picture blog make a tube blog with embeded aff movies then do unique hand written posts with it. I left that site untouched for around 4-5 months I think it was, then realised the amount of traffic is was getting without any updates, now I do update it pretty regular lol

Google claims they don't use analytics data for ranking--who knows if that's true. Google can still see bounces even if you're not using analytics though.

I Have no analytics on that blog at all. I have done no promotion on it at all. I have way more outgoing links than incomming links. I have had no SEO done on that site and it gets more traffic than any of my other blogs The one main difference is all the posts are unique and hand written by myself and it is a movie blog which means users stay on the blog a whole lot longer than a picture blog. So to me its saying that google is looking at bounce rate which I guess is why it gets so much traffic with very little work. I do have a google webmaster account which has that site listed but I do not use analytics. So i guess google can see the bounce rate whithout you having analytics on the site.

The bounce rate google care is all about the time spent on the landing page. I believe the bounce rate is all about the time user spent on the landing page until he hit the back button and return back to google. There is no other way google could compute the bounce rate. Actually they state that somewhere, but how exactly it is calced i belive it's top secret I don't think the bounce rate has such a significant importance since it's so hard for google to be accurate. Yes, it use analytics data but not enough for to get a better place.

Tubes get a lot of traffic because they hit tons of keywords. Easy to update, doesn't require hundreds of hard work from the webmaster side. So your tube is not optimized for a bunch of keywords but get little traffic from everything. Since we all know the average porn seeker will not limit to first page like in mainstream, the tube will get a little bit from every keyword. Ofcourse i could be wrong, these are just some personal observations based on my own experience. Since it get traffic from everywhere most of the traffic is shit. Tons of shit traffic worth if you make your bank on CPC.

I have a hand written blog and completely sponsors RSS based blog. The first one is optimized against some keywords. The later not at all. Guess what? the last one get more traffic and i spent less time to build it up. The first one converts and the last one not at all. Why?

I believe it's all about quality! Regular updates will increase your traffic at steady rate.
Traffic grow even you don't regular update it but do you get more sales or just bigger ratio?

Also, stop believing in these google fake myths. Google is not that smart as most of the us think. Lots of people just shot the shit around not having any evidence for what they say. Question everything!

There seems to be some people suggesting that NOT updating you blog for 2 years is somehow a good thing, if you think that -- you are on more drugs than I am.

I'm not saying RSS is the best choice -- what I was trying to point out is you can use RSS, modify the content, and STILL HAVE ORIGINAL POSTS while doing a lot less work.

Funny I got blogs ranking top 5 for good KW that have not been updated in 2 years and I got ones that dont rank for shit with 100's of post and reg updates..


I think blogs with under 20 posts seem to do better unless you got 1million back links
