The bounce rate google care is all about the time spent on the landing page. I believe the bounce rate is all about the time user spent on the landing page until he hit the back button and return back to google. There is no other way google could compute the bounce rate. Actually they state that somewhere, but how exactly it is calced i belive it's top secret
I don't think the bounce rate has such a significant importance since it's so hard for google to be accurate. Yes, it use analytics data but not enough for to get a better place.
Tubes get a lot of traffic because they hit tons of keywords. Easy to update, doesn't require hundreds of hard work from the webmaster side. So your tube is not optimized for a bunch of keywords but get little traffic from everything. Since we all know the average porn seeker will not limit to first page like in mainstream, the tube will get a little bit from every keyword. Ofcourse i could be wrong, these are just some personal observations based on my own experience. Since it get traffic from everywhere most of the traffic is shit. Tons of shit traffic worth if you make your bank on CPC.
I have a hand written blog and completely sponsors RSS based blog. The first one is optimized against some keywords. The later not at all. Guess what? the last one get more traffic and i spent less time to build it up. The first one converts and the last one not at all. Why?
I believe it's all about quality! Regular updates will increase your traffic at steady rate.
Traffic grow even you don't regular update it but do you get more sales or just bigger ratio?
Also, stop believing in these google fake myths. Google is not that smart as most of the us think. Lots of people just shot the shit around not having any evidence for what they say. Question everything!
