Anyone build a dealership website on WP?
I've found more and more small used car dealerships that have horrible (thats an understatement) websites. One that just signed up with us has a single page then links to his Homenet inventory results. Looks like junk and won't convert at all.
Rather, I've thought about just building out a website for him, as well other used dealerships as a feature add-on to our service. Id rather have to eat a little bit of money now to know that the sites will convert for them. Anyone ever setup an automotive website, with inventory, on WordPress? It seems like it can be done, but I can't seem to find that missing inventory piece that works with something like Homenet to populate their data. I found a company that sells a license for $149/mo per dealership, but that was quickly shot down. We get a feed of inventory from Homenet (its a dealership DMS type system) each day via FTP. So we have a unique file for each dealer

Whatever you can build into any website you can build into Wordpress. Wordpress is just a bloated blog app and I guess framework
I'm not familiar with the types of sites you are referring to and it's a pretty specific thing I'd be surprised if many are, but I'm sure you can integrate the inventory feed you're talking about pretty easily like you would anything else Whether you make a plugin or not just gives more portability. |
