ccbill password fun

So I get locked out of both my merchant, and affiliate accounts. The usual 'password has expired, please enter a new one' is no longer, and all that happens is I get 'invalid affiliate ID' and 'unable to authenticate' - no redirect, no instructions on what to do next, nada.

Live support now want the last 4 digits of my passport to verify who I am, to reset a password that ccbill have automatically decided is out of date, which may not seem a big deal, but it adds to this hassle I go through every 90(?) days. Then I obviously have to enter the password given to me by live chat, then get the popup box telling me the password is expired, and to enter a new one. Finally I can now go over and enter that into statsremote, for each account.

Is there any way you can make this more of a chore than it already is?

its for your own security, hahaha
I love it when service providers try to make it as hard as they can to use
their product.
I can set my own damn passwords and I dont need your expiration craze.

affiliate accounts don't have the 'password has expired' feature, they never have had

It is certainly not something I have ever seen if they have

So you forgot, got locked out and now it is CCBill's fault for not just allowing you back in?

Maybe instead of moaning, write the password down so you wont enter the wrong one?

Yea, that is a pain in the ass. But at the end of the day it's probably better that we have to change them, even if it's a hassle sometimes.

I think their legacy admin for affiliates does not do it just the new one.

not really. excessive password changing tends to lead to people writing passwords down or putting them openly in text files called "passwords". it creates its own security nightmare.

once a year change might be nice. every couple of months with ccbill has become a major pain, one i wish i could opt out of.

Agreed. *Nothing* else I use has such an aggressive 'change your password!' policy. Hundreds of programs, banks, ISPs, recurring-billing software programs, cellphone accounts, utility providers, and whoever else I can't think of offhand.

Combined total security breaches: zero
