100+ CEOs Pledge No Campaign Contributions

http://money.cnn.com/2011/08/24/news...ions/index.htm

Good, I would love to see them pledge the money they would normally dump into these campaigns into US Jobs.

The sad fact is that these guys are not the problem. The problem is the companies that will still give campaign contributions, and even worse, give money to the special interest groups that circumvent the system and run campaign ads and ads to influence voters. They do so in a way that it is not a campaign contribution, and yet still buys the favors.

I find it amusing that you believe there is a difference between Republican and Democrat. They are both 'personally' brought and paid for by the Military Industrial Complex, Banking Institutes and a variety of other nasty bastard organisations. By 'personally' I am talking about the person at the top. Who cares what a low level Senator with good intentions thinks. That low level Senator will remain low level untill he/she sells their soul.

That is really brilliant. From a business model perspective, there is not much Starbucks can do, without completely changing their brand, besides hope the economy improves. This goes beyond just hoping.

I hope more companies follow suit, and we all should make a concerted effort to support the brands that do.

would be cool if it was marketed by listing the companies that aren't contributing against those that are in a major campaign.. But then I love to see people get pissed off

think about that

I don't see anywhere that I stated any political party reference.

What I was trying to say is it doesnt matter who gets finance and who gets in power. They both answer to the same people and their agendas will both be the same.

Which is why bipartisan removal of funding could light a fire under politicians to perform better.

Are you in this industry or posting on GFY for some other reason?

Do you really not understand that it is big business which funds much of the political process, so it could really make a difference having CEOs of major corporations making a financial statement about what they want the politicians to do?
