Update: Sister's Husband's Funeral @ Arlington today

The GodHatesFags assholes never showed up today, not that we'd notice with all the vet biker groups hanging around.

The Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta along with some 3 star generals showed up to give their respects. They also had a B52 bomber do a flyover because it had a special meaning to my brother in law and his vet buddies.

It was very unusual because they don't do that sort of thing for just anybody and the SoD is a busy guy. The whole ceremony was amazing.

I'm extremely saddened that I had to be in that situation, but I am very happy and honored that I got to experience it.

The entire past 4 days have been very physically and emotionally draining. At least, through his fellow vets who were in theater with him over the past 17 years gave me a real insight into who he was. The good and bad alike, but really not a single person had a bad thing to say about him.

nice for their families that they got a ceremony like that - won't bring them back but having the US Secretary of Defense attend will always stick with them that his death wasn't for nothing. His country called and he answered and made the ultimate sacrifice.

He had a really bright future ahead of him that his superiors planned on. The more i've heard from his superior officers, even generals, the more in awe I am of my brother in law whom i barely knew. Him being a great husband to my sister and a great father to my niece and nephew was already enough for me. The stories from his fellow soldiers that either served with and under him along with the speeches and comments from his superiors and some very high up superiors are simply incredible.
