smoking question???

so im trying to quit smoking cigarettes.... I quit once before with nicorette gum and a 3 week vacation. This time Ive got nicorette commit lozenges and so far so good. How long before I won't want to smoke a cigarette? The first time around it was hard to tell cuz I was on a vacation.

basically, how long before Ill have no desire to ever smoke again?

go to a lung cancer ward in a hospital and talk to some of the dying patients- no more desire to smoke.

I quit six months ago, and I still get 'urges' to smoke. The only difference now is that I'm clear headed enough to realize just how bad it would be for me to smoke even one cig. Good luck, dude, it is sooo worth it to quit.

It's simple.... just stop.

You don't pick up a knife and stab someone do you? Now apply the same principle to cigarettes and you'll be free of them soon.

I gave up 12 Nov 2001 and never looked back.

This is the best advice and analogy you can ask for! I'm not kidding.

Let me give you a more clear way of getting it out of your head. You have to convince yourself and firmly believe the facts.

Ciggarettes are NOT healthy. Ciggarettes stink like shit, and every1 who does not smoke that is near you WILL think you stink like S-H-I-T. Ciggarettes are expensive. Ciggarettes do nothing for you.

I smoked for 10 years, I started when I was 13. I quit December 01', I am 24 now. First two weeks were the hardest, because you have to disassociate yourself from the habit and urges of smoking. It gets way easier after that.

Once in a blue moon I think about 'what if I had a cigg?' because maybe Im pissed or stressed or really relaxed on some drug or some shit... and then I think 'for what, to become addicted to some smelly expensive crap thats only purpose is to poison and KILL ME for population and healthcare control?' FUCK THAT.

Cigarretes are bullshit. Smoke weed instead.

I smoked for 5 years...which isn't much, but I was really addicted after those five years...I was sick of feeling shitty so I did it ...cold turkey. The first 2 weeks are hell..I heard that was the physical addiction and everything after that is just mental. I don't know when I quit because I am never going to smoke again...I think that helped me the most of all..every time I remebered when I quit it became just a long time between cigarettes..If you are a moderate to heavy drinker it will be even harder...they went hand in hand for me..so I laid off the drink for a while as well. I feel great now and it has probably been about 3 years or around there..when I watch movies with heavy smoking for some reason I still get the urge...but it is so minute I just brush it off...the biggest thing is that you can't have even 1 doubt in your mind that your not going to make it....

Yea! You can slowly become retarded AND get more carcinogens and tar in your lungs if you smoke weed instead of ciggs.

GREAT ADVICE!

I need to quit seriously myself.

Started when I was 13... 21 now.

Here lets do the math:

365 x 8 years = 2920 days

Pack a day @ AVG of $3

2920 x 3 = $8760

$8760... enough to pay for my funeral :/

well the patch offers no oral fixaztion and the gum gets hard and tastless after a while whereas the lozenge maintains it flavor and texture throughout the entire duration of nicotine absorbption.
