Nice speech. No one down here really cares what the north thinks...:winkwink:

Mr.Fiction 01-28-2003 08:19 PM

OK, this was the actual quote from the transcript - not exactly what I thought he said:

The liberty we prize is not America's gift to the world, it is God's gift to humanity.

He doesn't want you to be able to sue if you or your family get screwed by your doctors - or insurance companies.
Bush just visited the area where I live a few weeks ago about this. There is a really bad mass-exodus going on here in all the area hospitals by doctors, due to the increase in malpractice ensurance premiums in the area.

The problem stems from ridiculous inflated claims filed by patients against doctors. Pretty soon we're not going to have any good physicians in the area, and will have to travel about 2 hours out of our way to get one.

He's not trying to stop you from suing for a legit claim, but lawsuits in this country have literally run amuk, and this is one result of it.

I'm not a Bush advocate, but I do support this one.

Mutt 01-28-2003 08:20 PM

shut the fuck up ........ nobody from Quebec ever fought for anything but to destroy Canada

thousands of Canadians died at Dieppe in WW II while thousands of Quebecers hid in the woods, no shit, in caves some of them.

i have no patience with the province of Quebec having an opinion on anything other than whores or hockey

Brat 01-28-2003 08:21 PM

I think Bush is or will be making a huge mistake with this, and as far as I'm concerned, most of the Americans agree with this. So how exactly has Bush decided this if at least half of his country disagrees with it?? It's nice to be president I guess :)

What I really don't like though is how he pretty much threatens every other country to join in his decision and if other countries dont, he would consider us as enemies. Fuck, this is your fight man, leave everyone the hell out of it. We dont want any part in this.

It's all about the oil

I'm sure if Hussein told Bush "You can take all the oil you want Mr Bush"

Bush would gladly say "Thanks and have a nice day!"

What a great idea!!
Let's start war against any other country that has ( or we believe has) dangerous weapons. Even though we have these weapons too, it doesn't matter, because no other country besides the U.S is allowed to have these. Give me a break!!!

Now he's praising Jesus and saying some religious stuff.

Holy shit.

No... he said, "freedom wasn't American's responsibility, but God's gift to humanity."

He is just implying that everyone should enjoy the same freedoms that we in America do. I believe that's pretty ethnocentric, but some of the shit that people in other parts of the world have to live with is simply unbareable to imagine.

Did I ever say he was not our president? Put Bush's dick down and read on my first post in this thread I stated that I did not vote for his ass. Just cuz he got elected does not make him a good president it just showed us that even the stupidest people can become president:321GFY

Yeah but what if Hussein actually gets a hold of nuclear weapons in the next few years and launches an attack? which im sure he would if he had them. im sure part of it is the oil BUT this twisted regime needs to come to an end. As far as all the other countries that are against the US invading Iraq will be patting us on the back when saddam is gone.

Yeah, but the policies of ANY president don't really take effect until at least a year after he is in office. In most cases, they really don't see fruition until the NEXT president takes office.

So if you were seeing the country go downhill since the day he was sworn in, or even up to a year later, it's likely the fault of the pres. before him and the policies they laid forth.

You don't really know how good or bad a president is unless he's sworn in twice.

I liked Clinton though. He did some good shit.

Actually, the only country that has a "nuclear attack" plan as back up is the US.

How about the US getting rid of their WMD!

When you are a country that 50% of the world dislikes or continually tries to undermine, a nuclear attack plan as backup isn't a bad idea.

The world is full of player haters.

It was done to be polite. Do you really think we need any help? If so you must be what 19, maybe 21.

They'd be plenty safe. They're not going around making enemies with the rest of the world. You don't need the troops if you don't have the enemies.
