Any Adobe Premiere experts around, it's too confusing for me.

I'm editing some of my old videos and having problems using some of the affect. I follow the manual, looked on Youtube and it's very annoying.

Too many feature and a manual that was written for those who know how to use the program.

Help please.

Why not just purchase Premier Elements? Much more user friendly, if you find the full version confusing...

We've already got this one the in-house editor used it.

I've edited the cuts nicely, trying to get a cross over merge and a fade in or still frame at the front and back is the killer.

I learned to edit with reel to reel, which was far simpler IMO. Could do some pretty fancy stuff with it as well. Or maybe it was laid out simpler, so many damn features on this program and most should be kept well hidden.

Just need someone to talk me through a few points and I'll be fixed, if I need to buy I'll ask around for a simple program an old man can figure out.

Thats what elements is - Much more user friendly, and less that £100 i think...

Another way to think of elements, is that it is designed to be a really simple program that grandparents can use to edit up footage of their grandchildren and stuff, and add fades and transitions REALLY easy... Its basically DRAG n DROP unlike the FULL version..

Different interface etc

Will give that a shot after lunch, will see what the trial is like. Might get all the advice I need in a month. Not doing anything fancy, it's old rubbish after all.

Premiere is a great program and it has great help menu with examples...

Very easy to alter speed, reverse action and do freeze frames.....

If a person is serous about making high quality videos it is one of the programs they would have to know how to use.

It does have the trial, but for $25 I will give the month a shot. Had to take the dog to the vet's this afternoon, he got bit by some bees. And the weekend we are out. So will give it a shot Monday.

Cherry, I'm just doing a freeze frame at the beginning and end, cuts where needed, some with merges, editing sound and a freeze frame at the end. Might do some tweaking of the color but most should be fine.

This is porn not Gone With The Wind. Guys don't look for special effects when they're reaching for the lube.

That is always a good excuse for ignorance.

But if we say that video is the most important part of content on the web now, knowledge on how to edit it would seem to be quite important.

A good cameraman shoots for the editor and then the results can be very powerful.

You should try watching some Czech cinema.

You seriously are a failure at porn.

The most important element of shooting a porn movie is knowledge of how to make models perform properly, get their best from then, keep them in the mood and giving their all. How to actually pick or reject the right and wrong models.

Then it's knowing the niche. Settings, clothing, etc.

Then angles, sequence and running order of a porn scene from start to finish.

Then comes camera, lighting, sound and the rest of the equipment knowledge.

Then knowing how to construct a scene for an editor.

Then editing the scene.

The proof of who is right must be in who has made the most money selling porn. And you're not even in the same league as me. Your a part time porn shooter. Who probably does it more as a hobby. If you were right so many niches wouldn't get a look in and the Playboy style porn would be the biggest seller, which it isn't.

Now kindly FUCK OFF and take your views to a forum that's about what you think is right. Your ideas on porn are as wrong as Gideons on copyright laws.

I think porn as you understand it is dead, and will not be missed. I am not interested in making porn. We are interested in what is possible in uncensored erotic film making.

You make a good list of ways of adding value to a scene but when you shot your scene you add nothing of value to them (although you took 80% of the money)

All you did was record what the girl did, and maybe directed her.

But all the things above is what you did not do. You didn't employ a sound recordest to get good sound, a camera person to film it and light it well. Did you buy sexy clothes for the shoot ? In fact you added nothing of value to the video.

And then we come to the editing, some say the most important part of film making to turn the raw material into erotic gold, the expansion and contraction of time...

But you don't even know how the editing program works

And that is why people don't want to pay for porn because it looks like cheap shit. So why should they pay for it?

Your refusal to look at mainstream culture results in you failing to understand what is good or bad visually. You are stuck in an old porn ghetto.

Fine, now go and try to make money from it. Otherwise it's all blah blah by a hobbyist porn guy. Try and get people to agree with you by buying it, try to get a website going full of scenes like this. If you have done it, then shows us a scene.

34 years a porn guy and you're not even in the business and you think you know more than me. No wonder this industry is in the shitter when idiots like you can blah blah. you might be good at your day job. But at porn, which is the business we're talking about, what have you achieved so far?

Samples please of your film making skills and what you made from the films have to be in your next post. To prove your not full of hot air.

In my opinion...all porn...I have seen is not sexy...not erotic...just boring...boring...boring and much of it is also disgusting. I had much rather watch a very softcore scene between...lets say Antonio Bandares and Joline...as it is erotic and sexy. But that is my taste and maybe not yours or others.

I have to admit when I was a young teenager...porn did hold my interest to some extent but after experiencing real sex as a teenager...I no longer had an interest in porn.

It is you that is talking about porn...as you know it...and I think he is talking about making something that it is actually sexy and erotic. I do not know if he has actually accomplished this or not...but kudos to him for the effort.

Your troll game is lame today. Try and pick something less obvious. Some ideas for you:

1) Try posting really horrible old scans of really shit unsexy porn and claim it as your own
2) Try pretending you shot a scene for Manwin for 3k (lol)
3) Try pretending you're writing an ebook
4) Try pretending you think usenet was good for promotion
5) Try pretending the internet is shrinking
6) Try pretending that there is less money in porn today than there was in 1965

Hope that helps

Your fan

Making in money from the creative industries is very difficult, not just in the adult industry.

Never has it been easier to write a song and yet so difficult to make money from it. In the film industry there are thousands of wannabies who will work for nothing just to get closer to their dream of working in the film industry.

The return on our films is modest by big porn players but it is a lot better than mainstream film production. We think by putting the maximum effort into quality we will be able to exploit our films for longer.

Our work is in the publice domain and you are free to view it. As you have made so much money and we are poor losers it will not be a problem for you to pay for a membership.

This is business, not an art school. The prime concern is to make money. So you're an amateur trying to do things for the fun of it or a failed businessman.

Links please to your public domain porn scenes please.

When we bought it they were offereing, well selling really, a course to learn how to use it. Wish I had gone on it. As we employed a video editor I never bothered.

Getting to grips with it now slowly. Now it's a personal thing. Premiere will not beat me.

All BS aside mate... Why didn't you just chargeback?

I mean fuck em.... I know I spend a lot of time saying I cant afford this or that, thats just me 'playing' on GFY... But If I pay for a program, or script, or theme, or WHATEVER... If it aint right... I'm charging back within the blink of an eye...

Not being a tight-arse... I dont do it if NOT NEEDED... But just from a biz sense...

Hello again Paul.

If you haven't purchased the Lynda membership yet, here are some short, free tutorial clips provided by Adobe to help learn some of the basics. These clips come from Lynda's library and may help you come to a decision on whether to buy a membership or not.

I have a feeling that the chapter on editing in the coming soon Paul Markham's e-book is going to be very short.

Decided to scan all the negatives first, only a few left to do. Which I expect to finish Monday/Tuesday. Then get into the editing. Been editing a few scenes and save in the Premiere format ppi.

Only need to stick a beginning and end on and then over lap the cuts a bit where I haven't got a great cut. For instance shot a scene where the girl dived into the pool and then moved to film her surfacing from the dive, in a different angle. Bloody thing is I didn't get the girl to go in exactly as she did the first time. Subsequent times she had wet hair and body, so need a small merge.

Also as she was orgasming I went from close up to half body and you can't cut and tell the girl to climax again. She was doing it on a hose and she would of sprayed me if I had stopped her.

Cherry, the chapter on editing needs to be short. With good porn the editing is simple. Well more simple than the other parts.

Still waiting to see your examples. You seem to be too scared to show us. I saw the sample in your signature and did you shoot all those scenes and why the boring music?

There is no point to show you our films, just as there is no sense in taking someone who just its KFC to a good restuarant. Your taste is just so poor, not only do you lack education and culture you are happy about it.

Here is an example of editing.

I was expecting to see a shot of the blonde girl looking shocked, as the brunette revealed a cock !

Paul, did you try elements yet, prob all you need and you will learn it without a book or tutorial in 5 secs, only prob is the bastards made it 32 bit so it crashes on some simple tasks on a 64bit machine, adobe has turned into a bunch of idiots really I need to look into vegas, but i loved premire for a bit, hate to switch :D

As usual you back out with a lame excuse. You look at our work and judge that's my tastes. Why I have no idea, other than the usual troll mode of imagining something that fits your ideas, no matter how wrong they are, and then go from there.

You're clueless about what porn I like, what I watch and what I admire.

So here's a list of some of the people I do like and respect in this business.

Hank Londoner.
Viv Thomas
Joanie Alumn
Pierre Woodman
Andrew Blake
Micheal Ninn
Bill Wright
Peter Kay
Steve Perry

And more. Yes some of those have produced bad work, judge them on their best not worse.

The problem is producing something, erotic, horny and profitable. Looking at the clips on your site, you have lots of work by different producers. The styles are too different to be the same person, unless you can prove otherwise.

Showing a few stills doesn't prove you can shoot, edit or produce an erotic porn movie that will sell. Unless you can do that, you're losing money satisfying your own tastes in a hobby.

To produce what you dream of requires a lot of things. Top of the list is money. A lot of money in porn terms. Location, forget about 2 average looking girls who can follow instructions sitting on a cheap sofa. It needs a location with imagination. Think along the lines of something that doesn't look like a scene that's been done a 1,000 times, this year. 2 girls on a sofa, in front of cheap radiators!!!!!!

Nice pot plant though.

Then girls who can really carry the fantasy. They need to be really good, follow direction, put some feeling and style into the scene and when the action starts, that's the porn part, can really pull it off.

Make up. Well you don't understand that, by the pictures you posted. So let's just say it needs good make up.

Clothing, needs to really fit the fantasy. Not stuff that the girls wear everyday.

Shooters. Probably a 2 tag team, with a director instructing them on headphones from another location. The shooters and director need to know exactly what they doing.

Lighting, not the flat lighting you showed. It needs to create a mood, atmosphere that fits the fantasy. It needs professionals.

Sound. guy with a boom and a guy on sound mixer. Again we need professionals.

Script, something with imagination. Not 2 girls on a sofa, where's the lead in, the construction of the scene. did the girls just happen to be sitting on a sofa and decide to have sex? A pizza delivery guy or pool man has more fantasy and eroticism than your pics.

Music. not the cheap music on your clips, something composed by a pro to fit the scene.

Then you come to editing.

Try doing that on a budget that is probably less than a proper movie spends one day for the catering truck.

Here's 2 lists of examples for what you dream of. http://www.filmaffinity.com/en/listt...hp?list_id=515 http://www.amazon.com/Best-Mainstrea.../RXD946RTAN4YI

OK not all the films, just some of them have scenes that create what you like. Here's more http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emmanuelle_%28film%29

Personally I loved it, yes porn is personal.

Try doing something like these, with hardcore, then come back and show us.

Something else I just saw from your pics. You seemed to have shot from a couple of angles. You missed a few obvious ones.

Not yet. It's become personal and I have the time.

I'm not going to let Adobe get the better of me until I really am beaten. I think I've proved I'm an obstinate bastard.

I'm not doing Gone With The Wind, so I'm sure I can figure it out.

Our daughter has been home from holiday as well the last week. Next week she's off to horse riding camp. So it's just me and the dog again. Will devote time to getting it done then.

If beaten will probably go for an easier program. but not one that crashes.

I thought the brunette was the better looking of the 2. Got a horse shaped face.

He totally failed showing those pictures. They show how little he knows.

I've been on a few shoots like I described. They shoot one scene a day, max 2. Unless they have a big location and more crews.

Everything is arranged long before hand by professionals. Models arrive and sit down reading scripts until called for. The crew set about doing the prep work, the make up artist and stylist start to prepare models for the up coming scenes. The whole thing is so professional, it would amaze many here. It's not possible today, for most, because of the budgets porn has.

Every time you write something you expose your ignorance some more.

I suggest you hire the film "Monsters" and watch the behind the scenes video. Here is a feature film shot on a Sony HD camera, with a crew of Sound / camera / producer.

I understand you have had no education, that you do not know anything about, optics, lighting, sound, story, editing. I that is forgivable, but the fact you refuse to learn or listen to anyone else, that you are rude and a bully destroys any sympathy people might have for you.

It may be just about the money for you, and money is important we all need some, but I enjoy photography and film making, its gives me a lot of satisfaction doing something well.

Just as watching good films (such as Czech Cinema which you love to be ignorant of even though you live in their country ) or looking at good photographs.

It is very strange that you have retired, have a great house wife etc, made a shit load of cash....so

Why the fuck do you live most of your life here ? Writing any drivel that comes into your head.

Get out there and play with the puppy!

PS - check out "i spell " which works in I Explorer

So you told us what you would of done. Now tell me why I should of done that?

You write drivel about shooting great erotic films, without proving you have done or can do. You post drivel about what you can do then post pictures of a crap movie. No imagination, no story line and your edit points are bad. Your lack of angles is a clear indication you are clueless.

Yes it's all about the money. I'm not trying to prove anything. I'm in it to make money.

I enjoy being around models, being teased by them and teasing them back and yes I've enjoyed a few of them. But above all it's always about the money. It's business for me, for you it seems like a hobby. Ultimately if I can make $5,000 a day shooting what I shoot and lose money shooting what you shoot, not that you've proved you can or do shoot it. I will shoot what I shoot.

It's my job, not my hobby.

You fail to answer any of my direct questions. So here's a few again.

What's your day job?
Where are the scenes that you've shot?
Can you quit your day job and become a full time erotic photographer and still earn a decent wage.
Are the clips on your site all shot by you?
If not do you have the rights to publish them.
Why did you use boring cheap music when editing those clips together?

My job, was full time pornographer.
My content is or was everywhere, all around the world.
I did quit my day job to become a full time pornographer.
Not all the content on our sites are shot by me. I employed people to also shoot for us.
I have the rights to everything on my sites.
I don't use boring music in the foreground, it's in the background so as not to kill the mood.

I'm stating facts. You just keep coming back with your dreams of how it should be, but unable to do yourself.

If this is your best work, http://www.blurb.com/books/1334167 you talk drivel and can't back it up. This is amateur, the mistakes are obvious to any shooter. Go take a look and see what good erotic shooters do.

And not just my opinion, others have pulled your work apart.

I wonder why there is so little of it on any piracy places? Are you working with Remove Your Content, or is that people don't even want your stuff for free?

I think we all know the answer.

Imagine making something so shit people don't even want it for free.
