Dianetics is an awesome book.

So is the Aquarian Conspiracy,but I dont put faith in anything but my own decisions though. Its just someone elses words, its only how you use them for positive motivation in <i>your</i> life that matters. Not the Title or Doctrine.

Instead of watching TV I read, nothing wrong with reading bookss, even if they are Dianetic.

I do however have an interest in how they market.

They're successful, so if nothing else I can learn from their examples.

Books are often "front end" products for a whole range of related products and services.

Most information products do this.

Within the books there are upsells to more expensive products and services.

I have no interest in discussing the book.

The subject doesn't interest me.

The marketing methods do.

You say intelligence can also be shown when talking about "light" subjects. However, when talking about "light" subjects common sense, not intelligence is what usually is used. Since high intelligence requires the recognition of meta-patterns, even light subjects will eventually be linked to deeper, more encompassing subjects.

PS. I wasn't talking about economics. The German expressionists in the 1920's were a cultural movement primarily invloved in literature, with writers such as Brecht and Jahn.

The facts:

1. The pop industry almost exclusively shows young, attractive people, thereby creating an atmosphere wherein people feel they aren't "normal" if they don't look like that. The signal this gives is, "It matters greatly what you look like".

2. A song that says "Everyone is beautiful" is in complete contradiction with this. The words aren't supported by the practice.

Here's what I see. Christina is here for the long haul, and will evolve over time with new looks, style etc. much like Madonna did when she started out in the 80s. Christina, regardless of her sometimes slutty look, tattos, piercings and whatever else is talented. The girl has an incredible voice. She was one of the only acts I could even tolerate on the American Music Awards a few weeks ago, and she sang. No lip synching.
Britney, on the other hand, was totally manufactured because of her looks. She has no talent other than her looks and being able to follow a choreographer in her videos and on stage. She's getting older which is bad for her since her base audience is around 15. She doesn't have the talent or ability to endure a lengthy singing career.
