At least he's getting his mileage out of all that football talent. I'm sure it helps him play keepaway from all those prison homos wanting to make him their bitch.

He did. It was called "OJ Simpson- If I Did It"

But then there was this big legal battle and the goldman family got it pulled, edited and re-released:

I'd like to read it someday, but from what I have heard its mostly fluff and OJ tries to build it up like Nicole was really fucked up and pretty much drove him to do it. But he stipulates it's a "fictionalized" account. The original title was supposed to be "If I Did It, Here's How".

Any doubts of mine about OJ's guilt were immediately withdrawn when i heard the 911 calls from Nicole that she previously made.

has there been any updates about the two kids he had with Nicole? they were young when their mother was murdered. i think they were being raised by OJ, seem to remember there was some drama with the daughter. now they're old enough to read all the accounts of the case they have to know that their father killed their mother. if they're half normal that would be a major accomplishment.

Being up for parole and getting paroled are two vastly different things. You think he is getting out after 9 years? I think serving 9 year for stealing your own shit back is retarded though. There are child molesters that get less time. You could run a meth lab at a day care center and get less time.

I don't know for sure, but I believe that doubke jeopardy also covers lesser included crimes. So if a prosecutor can't, for instance, make a case for murder 1, but they could for murder 2, then the charge would be murder 2. Otherwise they could just keep pressing charges one after the other starting at the worst and working their way down. That wouldn't be fair.

I remember that trial well and it was riveting. I worked at Microsoft in the Water Tower in West LA and this was right after the company rolled out Windows 95 and right before rolling out NT 4.0 and when the verdicts were read, everyone stopped working. And at Microsoft, you never stopped. I just remember that day though, everyone just kind of went home.

Interesting to see if he finally cops to it.

The guy that stole OJs stuff wasn't giving it to the victims family either. Why didn't he go to jail? Just because OJ got off on one crime doesn't mean you bastardize the legal system to get him back on another one. If I kill someone and get off doesn't mean you get the right to throw me in jail for 10 years for jaywalking. Any regular citizen doing the "crime" OJ did would have done 2 years max if that.

OJ didnt file a police report because he knew the stuff would be turned over to the families. he should have sent some gangstas over there to pick up his shit.

well i think the idea would be that you cant try for murder 2 knowing it qualified and was already tried as murder1 but if he confessed to killing them in self defense it would be an entirely different charge..

they could also try him again on a federal charge for the same crime it appears

also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_v._Felix proves there is a way you could try him with "conspiracy to commit murder"

the world was different then, there was no Internet, people became obsessed with following the trial and all the characters in it. maybe it was the first reality TV show.
I remember having surgery the day the verdict came out and I asked how they found as soon as I woke up. For sure thought he'd go down.

I grew up about an hour outside Buffalo.

No, he can't be tried in criminal court at all for that crime or anything even related to it.

For the reasons I listed on page one. Our justice system is based on that law in that the government should not prosecute a case until they are sure that they have all the evidence needed to secure a conviction.

Otherwise prosecutors would keep dragging anyone who was found innocent of a crime into court until they got any sort of conviction to stick. As with anything ruled on by the supreme court, there are no exceptions.

I did forget about his armed robbery charge and sentence though.
I'd ask the law school you went to for a refund

FYI.. Civil and Criminal courts are 2 different things with different laws and burdens of proof.

Unless there is a statue of limitations...and I don't think there is...he could be tried for a violation of their "civil rights". The Feds have used this charge many times when jurors have aquitted murderers and for lesser crimes also. The Feds charged the cops that beat Rodney King with a violation of his "civil rights" when the state jury aquitted them and they went to prison after being found guilty of the Federal charge. I am not certain but I think the max on the charge is five years.

Who did he conspire with, himself? A conspiracy has to involved at least 2 people. That would also mean proving premeditation. If he was just going over to see Nicole and he saw her with Goldman and went apeshit and killed them in a rage that's not "conspiracy" since it wasn't planned.

If he came out and confessed they could always find something. They wouldn't put him in jail for life and he'd never get a sentence anywhere near as harsh as murder 1.

It's tough to say what he would be charged on as different charges have different time limitations. For instance, time has probably run out on any domestic violence charges. The violation of civil rights is one I have heard of before. Also if they can show any of the wounds were inflicted post mortem he could get abuse of a corpse, etc.

Here's a case where a guy killed his fiance, was acquitted, and then when further evidence came out he confessed. They wound up putting him away for perjury a few times- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mel_Ignatow
