Windows ships with IE, that's what most customers use. That's what you should base most of your testing with.

IE 9 sucks balls. I like previous versions. Hate tabs.

Had to switch to Chrome because FF screwed up somehow I don't remember, but little things that are different in Chrome are starting to really piss me off. Like the buggy saved login system.

Actually SRWare Iron is 3 times faster then Chrome. They both use the Chromium open source, but SRWare Iron does not track and invade your privacy the way Google Chrome does.

I use old and new versions ie, ff, chrome and sometimes opera between 2 pcs since I usually have to test with those, but may try that SRWare one for personal stuff. Thanks for the info.

"Best" is subjective to what you like in a browser.

That being said, I prefer Chrome because SPEED is the most important to me. |

Problems with chrome Installation-ID A copy of Google Chrome includes a generated installation number which will be sent to Google after the installation and the first usage. It gets deleted when Chrome checks first time for updates. If Chrome is received as part of a promotional campaign, it may generate a unique promotion number which is sent to Google on the first run and first use of Google Chrome. does not exist in Iron Suggest Depending on the configuration, each time you put something in the address line, this information is sent to Google to provide suggestions. does not exist in Iron Alternate Error Pages Depending on the configuration, if you have typed a false address in the adress bar, this is sent to Google and you get an error message from Google's servers. does not exist in Iron Error Reporting Depending on the configuration, details about crashes or failures are sent Google's servers. does not exist in Iron RLZ-Tracking This Chrome-function transmits information in encoded form to Google, for example, when and where Chrome has been downloaded. does not exist in Iron Google Updater Chrome installs a updater, which loads at every Windows in background. does not exist in Iron More here http://www.srware.net/en/software_sr...me_vs_iron.php

Ive just swapped back to chrome. Opera is so packed with technology, the flash slows it down compared... My favourite is still Chrome |

It's my own GECKO powered compilation of old FF and new FF + some more custom stuff. It has no name, well not official because only I use it. Now if we talk about all the mass crap then we have problematic matter. FF was good once in the old 2.0 times the new FF is ugly, buggy and overloaded with Google stuff (all can be stripped though if you are willing to make your own build, it is open source so you are allowed to do what you want with it except using Mozilla trademarks) FF is supported by many useful plugins written by some great programmers too.

As for what should interest webmasters the most which has the most up to date support for the new HTML5 and CSS3 goodness. FF4 and newer Aurora, Nightly etc., right after newest FF I would place Chromium family (Iron, Chrome or Pure chromium binaries). I've checked it. Opera, SeaMonkey and other are behind and too fucking bad because if not that and that Opera's (Spy)Googleware Opera would be quite nice browser. Internet explorer - Hell no, maybe 6.0 when run on WinXP, it's hard to get anything faster but I wouldn't browse with it anything that is not mine or that I don't know well. Obviously that would be dangerous. 7, 8, 9, and everything newer is and it will suck. Safari - Please... Rockmelt - Never tried and somehow I don't feel such need. Palemoon4 - it's simply FF4 but with old cpu support cut off. Mosaic - Mmmm sweet memories... So getting to the point, you should make your own build of FF, throw away useless shit along with Google spyware and add what you like and need. If you can't then I have bad news for you, you are doomed. Btw if you are on linux then IceCat is a bit nicer than FF. I was wondering once if I should keep my browser only for my self or to give it a way for ppl along with some nice gui and cool name but the thing is that I have no time to answer ppl questions, provide support, update frequently and so on. Do you know what pisses me off the most in all browsers? That every one renders a websites its own way. My head hurts when I try to satisfy them all. __________________ |
