I hope everyone's day is going better than mine. I spilled a glass of water on the table and all over my phone so it's fucked. I ran and got a new phone but the old is so fucked they couldn't put my contacts on the new one so I don't have anyone's # I was cleaning my 4 foot by 2 foot glass table when the glass fell and shattered everywhere boy was that a mess.

My cat thought it would be nice to bring a chipmunk in the house and he's running around some where now.

I have lost my voice screaming.

Then I turn my laptop on and my J and L key have broken off. What a pain in the ass that is.

I hope my day get's better. Thank you for letting me vent!

If it's clean water just remove the battery and put the phone in a bowl of new, dry white rice, and cover it with a plate. After about a day all the moisture will be drawn out of the phone. If you already switched on the phone while still wet inside it may be permanently ruined, but it might not, so it's still worth a try.

I think I may have you beat. Yesterday I:

-- Broke one of my favorite glasses whilst hand-washing it (2010 Olympic beer glass!)
-- Went outside to retrieve my recycling bluebox and found someone had stolen it. Nice.
-- While mowing the lawn, a thing I've done a thousand times or more, I accidentally ran over and ruined a $60 extention cord. First time in my life ever doing that.
-- Threw my back out and spent the evening laying down in pain.

Nothing a couple of cocktails and good night's sleep couldn't cure though. :D

Today I feel much better.

Some thoughts.

1. remove the phone battery and try to dry it out on a heater (not too hot. I put my nokia into the washing mashine last week. i got it out but it had got wet. i dried it, fine now.

2. Buy an external keyboard for your laptop.

3. From my observastions from TV, the chipmunk will entertain you in both song and wit. Often wear small baseball hats and jumpers.

get footage of chipmunk running around house, leave food somewhere and point camera at area to get nice close up of chipmunk. upload to youtube for viral video, attach advert and make some money.

Take the old phone and submerge it in a bowl of 90% or above isopropyl alcohol
for 5 minutes. (use clear alcohol, not blue or green)

Now take the phone out of the alcohol and place it on a towel to dry out for
24 hours.

Now see if you can get your contact numbers out.

The alcohol forces out any water or humidity but the alcohol then evaporates
completely making the phone completely dry inside.

Worked for me.

With the iPhone and me.com you can sync your phone and computer so that even if your phone is damaged or lost, you can still retain your data.

I presume that there are similar apps/programs/systems for PCs.

You are 100% right as it hasn't been the worst day ever in reality. I have had far worst days like when my house caught fire a week before x-mass or when I had to tell my gram it was ok to die as she was eaten up with cancer a day later she passed or the day my cuz who was 26 passed or the day I walked into an old friends house to find him hanging. I could go on and on but I won't.
