That, and realize, out in these regions of the world, control by fear, and fear of reprisal has worked for centuries. The Taliban is just sticking with tried & tested methods, which are now obsolete, and will probably backfire on them. Thanks to communication technology, you're not going to gain much control by using the threat of violence, because everyone in that region can see how it's done in other countries, and realize it's not needed.

also the prob is that pakistan on the frontier regions has a problem with these tribal pashtoons which are primarily afghani refugees that migrated to Pakistan from the russian occupation days.

These tribal pashtoons are the source of the majority of trouble in the frontier regions and have spread their network to inside the rest of Pakistan to destabilize the gov't.

The Pakistan gov't is helping the US at great cost to their own existence but the US doesnt seem to understand how tenuous the political situation is within that country

Iraq of course was total BS, but we should of been in Afghan as we are now. The problem was Bush put the focus of the so called war on terror on Iraq because it's what He & his cronies wanted which of course we all know was crap.

The high-jackers might have been from various countries, but their training took place in Afghan and it was the main base of operations for Al Qaeda.

The Taliban of course were just a side show but they are fucking assholes anyway, so might as well shoot at them while we are there.
