ICANN received bribes to pass .XXX against GAC advice

We all know it's true. Who is going to investigate it? Somebody should "leak" this story to the press. I think that ICANN is probably done as we know it. The EU and GAC all know that something dirty is afoot. A lot of people got paid off to make this happen. People just realized that ICANN can do whatever the fuck it wants and the GAC is just a joke. I think a major overhaul is coming and the FBI should start launching an investigation now. ICM Registry is clearly out to extort the adult community and even mainstream sites to protect their domains with the most ridiculous service fees ever. ICANN stinks of corruption.

ICANN gets bribed with every domain registered and re-registered yearly. So each new extensions increases their yearly flying around the World all year having "meetings" in exotic locations budget and you're doing the bribing by paying it. Not that you have any say or choice in the matter. Convincing them to increase their year long vacation expenditures is pretty easy. Think of them as the World Government of domains.

Sounds like they didn't get their cut of the money. Once they do, all will be good.

Obama's the 1st president not doin squat when it comes to .XXX. He was put into position, the most powerful man in the world, to redistribute the wealth back to the rich. And that includes pornography.

The media is keeping their buttcheecks extra tight, without passing wind on the subject.

However, the one thing we have going for us smut digital traffickers, is the majority of regular people hates the "booty business".

Maybe could search for names with public influence, thats against mandating .XXX. Even though everyone on the internet thinks their a fucking journalist now a days. Still, it adds up in the end.

Yeah, thats why it took over a decade, tens of millions of dollars(possibly more), extreme behind the scenes lobbying, ICANN breaking their laws.

Gee, wonder why all the effort for such a family friendly tld.

We have a winner.

The opponents to xxx and their daily threads and posts are doing nothing but increasimg peoples' awareness of it and elevating its "importance".

Washington, DC (May 3, 2011) "The International Foundation for Online Responsibility (IFFOR), the non for profit organization tasked with policy making for the new .XXX Top Level Domain, is pleased to announce that Joan Irvine will be their first Executive Director."

Washington DC huh? Thats interesting. For porno domain? Hmmm.

Guess will be hearing from the big networks soon, how our children are at risk, but theres something that can save all that.

For those of you with poor reading comprehension I'm not stating the title as a fact I'm stating it as the logical conclusion of the evidence everyone has. ICANN blatantly ignored the recommendations of their GAC and the world community as a whole, overturned their own previous rulings and then allowed a very controversial domain extension. The palms of the council were clearly greased with large amounts of money, hookers, cars, and who knows what else. Why would you pass this for the 200k you receive for a new TLD plus a few pennies for each registration? ICANN will not make a significant amount of money on .xxx relative to the rest of its business. The president of ICANN already makes about 1 million per year. Why do you risk increased government oversight, scrutiny from the EU, and just generally bad press? The only reason you would do this is if council members are receiving significant bribes. If I was ICANN I wouldn't pass .xxx. Why rock the boat when you are making huge money already and basically control the internet? Why risk the UN taking over?

On a side note did anyone notice that porn.xxx, xxx.xxx, and sex.xxx are no longer resolving? Did the EU already step in on this?

They've been pounding ICANN for years about .XXX. There was some massive lobbying involved, there is no doubt about that.
