He held too much valuable information to just outright kill. Why send in the commandos if they had eyes on him for a couple weeks? Why not just paint the target and lob a Tomahawk or two his way. This just looks more like a smash and grab than an actual seek and destroy mission.

His body gets buried at sea within 24 hours and they weren't concerned with the collected DNA getting compromised?

I hope he is alive and we're torturing the shit out of him this very moment for information on terrorist locations, cells, attack plans, etc. Then after we're done torturing him, hang him up in NYC and put him on display.

C'mon Obama, I know you have it in you. Please, please, please let him be alive and in U.S. custody. On the bright side, if no information is collected it would still be fun torturing the shit out of that puke.

i spoke with a couple marine friends of mine, they said that the original intent was to probably capture him but when they found him they beat the shit out of him, and disfigured him for payback/emotions. regardless of elite team or not, he said they all wanted to do that to him. to not have a pr nightmare or get branded as the bad guys, they make it seem like they respected his wishes and buried him at sea when he's prolly in a million different pieces

Marines are not SEALs. No disrespect to the Marines, of course, but SEALs are different animals. I'm sure they carry out a plan to the T, and don't participate in hate killing. It's all business for those guys.

And every second on the ground opens the entire operation up to a higher failure percentage rate. Not to mention the White House was watching in real time.

Also if taking him alive was the mission goal then they failed. None of them would find that acceptable.

For the most part I have to agree with you. Some of them get out of hand from time to time but for the most part when it comes to the job they do it right.

That's what I'm talking about. Why send the SEALS into a fortified position with a possible risk of absolute failure, or at least risking their lives when they could have just flattened that portion of the Earth and call it a day? If the mission were to just kill him, that is the M.O. for every other government backed assassination that I know of. If you argue that they didn't want to send a missile or launch any ordinance into Pakistan, I understand that. You don't want to go blowing up someone else's backyard to kill a mole eating the plants in your yard. They wanted to be certain. Blowing up a building would not guarantee everyone inside was killed, nor would it verify that Osama was amongst the dead. They killed him, verified the kill through conclusive DNA testing, and tossed him away. It was the best plan they had, and it worked out perfectly.

Imagine Obama had failed? How many right wing loons would be in the streets today, screaming for his impeachment? Give the guy a break!

So why has Obama used hundreds of drones attacks in the past? Many of those drone attacks were high AL targets including Osama.

Im not saying I dont think Osama is not dead. He is. But I think the mission was to capture Osama and bring him to Gitmo. Of course they are not going to say the seals failed. That would be a PR nightmare. They are heros even if they did "fail".
