My :2 cents: .Ok this guy has been banned what 12 or more times?There obviously was a reason to do it so many times.How many chances does someone get? What do you need from me to be reinstated? To become an advertiser? Put you on a top spot in my program? Put you in my sig, or have none at all?
I didn't realize 'see sig' would be a problem, it was said in jest towards a situation I observed, and obviously was not found to be funny by you. I understand that I crossed a line, and it will not happen again.
I was invited as an Executive to your party in Vegas, and met you on the floor of the convention as so many did I'm sure. I apologize for the actions you found to be offensive, and I have every intention of rectifying. The personality you've seen in the past is the past, I've been very proffessional as of late and earned the respect of many on the board.

With that said.. I have only a few things to add.

In the beginning yea i was a prick.. said alot of stupid things, did alot of stupid things. But here we are months and months later.. and I think just about everyone will agree they have seen changes for the better in my attitude. I wont attempt to downplay my 'see sig.' spams. It was stupid and it got out of hand.

I do however think its unfair to ban me when I have obviously shown a big effort to be apart of gfy, and not just sit on the board and spam it all day. You have members starting fake contests,ripping people off,making false accusations, etc.. etc.. etc.. and I on the other hand spammed more than i should have. the difference is.. is that they are not banned and I am. I asked to be unbanned and was sincere about saying it would be on your terms.. Im not a monkey.. I can learn to conduct myself in a different manner and I think I have shown that. I was never unbanned in the 1st place.. yet I was allowed to come back and make posts over and over again right in front of your eyes yet nothing was done about.. So one can only assume I was welcome back to the board each time.

My sig was banned.. not just the actual domain, but the entire layout of it.. yet.. if you search the top 5 threads on GFY at this very second.. you will see several sigs that are way out of control. Mine was clean looked nice and was within guidlines. If you wish to ban my program.. that is your call.. But to argue that my sig was to 'big' or whatever the case was.. I just dont think is very consistent with the rules of gfy. I was within the guidlines to my knowledge.

So the real question here is.. when is enough enough.. right? It seems alot of ppl are supporting my case, and have seen me make changes in my attitude for the better over the months.. I think that says alot about my and my intentions. I want todo the right thing.. But gofuckyourself.com is a hard place to bite your tounge when you see someone talking nonsense and want to call them on it.

I really dont want to ramble on and on.. I have tried to state my case.. And all i ask is that you consider it. I do think the 'acting like a 15 yr old' comment was kind of harsh when you have ppl doing things alot more childish than my thread spams.. but thats just me. I say unban the pimpdog (his original name). I miss the little guy. If you think he pushed the line with the spam (and for the record, I do), then ban his program for some set amount of time... 30 days or something.

But I don't really see what good comes out of banning him forever. Is it to discourage the same behavior in others? Other than Roger, most of the regulars already know better. Most of the spam on this board is from the newbies.

Anyway, in summary - I think you've made an example of pimpdog, and I don't think unbanning him will in any way negate your point.

Lensman - as a lot of people have said - its your board and your rules and Pimpdog can and has been a jerk on the board on a number of occasions.

However there is also a certain entertainment value in having him around and he certainly isn't as bad as some people who hang out here. While his board persona doesn't fill me full of confidence those who have met him in person seem to see a different guy to what appears on the board.

Perhaps give him one last chance - put him on probation and if he can't control himself this time then give him the flick once and for all. That way his fate rests in his hands and if he can't control himself he has no one to blame but himself.

I can see Pimpdog sitting back right now enjoying all the attention. Amazing how things work around here.

He's getting more attention now being banned than he ever did when he was unbanned.

Take a page out of AaronM's book and learn from your mistake when and if you get unbanned pimpdog. YOu have everyone's attention now so grow the fuck up when lens lifts your ban.

Sadly when and if lens does it PD will be more popular than ever.
And for what?

The moral of the story seems to be, get banned and get noticed.
Get unbanned and become one that ranks with the likes of Jesus.

OK Joe, I'll address this post.

First off there are some 15 year olds here, then there are some 50 year olds who act 15, and God knows what all in between. Does it really matter? No. You're in the board business, you take the good with the bad. Don't pull a Ricky and lose your dynamics, the very fact that this board is the way it is brings in the page hits and reloads. The software has an ignore feature, and people either do use it or they have a mighty fine time taking screenshots of people they are pretending to ignore to use in their posts.

Spamming? Ah, what of it. I've seen some people (not mentioning Mitch by name) do nothing but basically change a line or two in their cut and pastes and keep on trucking.

Surely the community -- and I'll use that word loosely -- is smart enough to recognize spam that they can't use when they see it, and ignore it. If not they should quit whining and head over to another board for some virtual java and scones.

As for the life sentence, it's a board, it's not something that's going to change most lives -- keeping it lively and the readers entertained is what keeps them coming back.

All that said, it's your joint, you run it as you want. I'm simply addressing your initial post like you requested.

Kimmy, since the banning I've been getting more and better productive webmasters to sign up. :winkwink:
