Question to all you... Men...

Do men cry?

Are you less of a "man" if you cry?

Im not talking about taking a punch or stubbing your toe...

but, say a guy is hit with a moment of extreme happiness or whatever the case may be and tears overwhelm him... is he then... less manly?

you need to soften up. letting that shit build up just leads to anger, frustration, then depression and despair.

i'd say you are more of a man if you cry when you want to. following old stupid stereotypes is moronic. why let other people define to you what a man is?

Yes I cry. Mostly when loved ones die. I've been very much hardened over the years, used to be much more of a softy.

I do what my body tells me, I dont hold back tears when it is appropriate but I do not often feel the need to cry either. I do not think that feeling your own emotions or not define you as a man.

I actually have an odd ability to completely disconnect myself from any emotions like flipping a switch. My girlfriend says she's seen it, and it scares her how disconnected and cold I can be "at the flip of a switch".

I last time I cried I was trying to save a little boy that had been hit by a car. He was about 6 or 7 years old... face smashed in... unfortunately his brain swelled up... I knew he was dead so I gave him to his mom to hold...

Didn't cry until the next day... when I was looking at my own son playing...

I cry about once every five years.. Oh... cried for my grandsons birth...

I won't judge another guy for crying if he just lost a loved one or something but if he cried.......let's say when Micheal Jackson died then that's a different story.

Personally, when I am watching some Disney movie and some beloved pet dies tragically I just get up and leave the room until my manliness seeps back in.

Human beings cry. Nothing wrong with that...........even I do it.........or almost do it, I hate losing control of my emotions.

But hell, we all have emotions. What annoys me are people, especially women, who cry at the drop of a hat.

Interesting topic... and many won't step in and admit it.

I never cry over happiness... for some reason it doesn't hit me that way. Never has. I rarely cry. But on the other hand, certain songs and movies can make me well up. Death of loved ones makes me lose it. My mid-life crisis a few years back made me lose it a few times too. Otherwise... frustration... pain... whatever else... I get thru it.

Emotions are great & its good to cry, makes you a better man, makes you a stronger man & makes you accessable to a much higher position in life, equality, enjoyment & proudness.

At the same time, this can make a weakness but hey, were not here to war, were here to enjoy life

Sad things yes, happy not so much. I didn't cry at my wedding, but I see lots of guys do it, more so than the ladies. Funerals, deaths etc, sad = tears.

perhaps you misunderstood what I meant... how im not sure...

Obviously its not expected unless youre at their deathbed. BUt as an offspring it is the natural and common way to outlive your parents. Plus, no parent wants to bury their child... it was sort of the point...

In certain ways, I don't agree. There are a lot of things that you are more patient with, and less panicked/flustered by, as you get older.

On the other hand, as you get older, two things happen: You have more life experience to draw on in order to realize the true importance of some events in your life, and also, you give less of a crap about what others think of you, so if you do feel like crying, you just do it.
