Question to all you... Men...

Do men cry?

Are you less of a "man" if you cry?

Im not talking about taking a punch or stubbing your toe...

but, say a guy is hit with a moment of extreme happiness or whatever the case may be and tears overwhelm him... is he then... less manly?

Spunky 04-25-2011 05:01 PM

I think the older you get,the more emotional you become

Agent 488 04-25-2011 05:02 PM

crying right actually ... brb ...

Chosen 04-25-2011 06:23 PM

WTF? Do you need someone else's advice on that? On anything??? Do whatever you want, and enjoy your life.

fitzmulti 04-25-2011 06:28 PM

Saddest, most painful thread topic....ever...
Kleenex pulled....

Amputate Your Head 04-25-2011 06:32 PM

Cried twice. Once when the old man died, once when my daughter died. :2 cents:

you need to soften up. letting that shit build up just leads to anger, frustration, then depression and despair.

harvey 04-25-2011 06:34 PM

excuse me while I shed a tear

that's what medication and heavy drinking is for.

BlackCrayon 04-25-2011 06:35 PM

i'd say you are more of a man if you cry when you want to. following old stupid stereotypes is moronic. why let other people define to you what a man is?

moeloubani 04-25-2011 06:37 PM

i wish i could spend all my time crying with happiness what kind of question is that

are you asking me if it is okay if that i am so happy that i cry? yes that is okay

Yes I cry. Mostly when loved ones die. I've been very much hardened over the years, used to be much more of a softy.

spazlabz 04-25-2011 07:00 PM

I do what my body tells me, I dont hold back tears when it is appropriate but I do not often feel the need to cry either. I do not think that feeling your own emotions or not define you as a man.

96ukssob 04-25-2011 07:03 PM

i cried at the series finale of Friends

GAMEFINEST 04-25-2011 07:03 PM

I wasnt asking for advice but opinion. I wasnt boo hooing and decided to ask if Im still a man... I see a guy win something and be praised and he broke out in tears. So the thought crossed my mind to ask...

As for amp... Jesus man... parents are expected but fuck losing your own kids. Harsh things man

camperjohn64 04-25-2011 07:20 PM

I actually have an odd ability to completely disconnect myself from any emotions like flipping a switch. My girlfriend says she's seen it, and it scares her how disconnected and cold I can be "at the flip of a switch".

Johnny come lately 04-25-2011 07:28 PM

I haven't cried in a looong time, but after my fiance and I experienced our first ultrasound and watched our daughter for the first time it was truely one of the happiest and emotional experiences of my life - Many more to come!

I have, snif, some more Kleenex, if you need...

V_RocKs 04-25-2011 07:35 PM

I last time I cried I was trying to save a little boy that had been hit by a car. He was about 6 or 7 years old... face smashed in... unfortunately his brain swelled up... I knew he was dead so I gave him to his mom to hold...

Didn't cry until the next day... when I was looking at my own son playing...

I cry about once every five years.. Oh... cried for my grandsons birth...

I won't judge another guy for crying if he just lost a loved one or something but if he cried.......let's say when Micheal Jackson died then that's a different story.

Personally, when I am watching some Disney movie and some beloved pet dies tragically I just get up and leave the room until my manliness seeps back in.

hard stuff man but you gotta let them go.

SmutHammer 04-25-2011 10:42 PM

Crying over a loved one dying or something simular is ok, if u cry over a girl... yes your less of a man!

twistyneck 04-25-2011 10:43 PM

A while back I went to the funeral of a 4 month old baby who had been beaten to death by his father. I cried.

shade001 04-25-2011 10:59 PM

Human beings cry. Nothing wrong with that...........even I do it.........or almost do it, I hate losing control of my emotions.

But hell, we all have emotions. What annoys me are people, especially women, who cry at the drop of a hat.

LAJ 04-25-2011 11:07 PM

Interesting topic... and many won't step in and admit it.

I never cry over happiness... for some reason it doesn't hit me that way. Never has. I rarely cry. But on the other hand, certain songs and movies can make me well up. Death of loved ones makes me lose it. My mid-life crisis a few years back made me lose it a few times too. Otherwise... frustration... pain... whatever else... I get thru it.

Actually not, losing parents is not expected. You can't prepare yourself for anything like death.
But losing a child must be a nightmare not everyone can be out of.

brassmonkey 04-25-2011 11:15 PM

i cried when bush won his second election.

Emotions are great & its good to cry, makes you a better man, makes you a stronger man & makes you accessable to a much higher position in life, equality, enjoyment & proudness.

At the same time, this can make a weakness but hey, were not here to war, were here to enjoy life :thumbsup

spazlabz 04-26-2011 05:09 AM

sorry, but I HAD to do it

I cry when I read posts from ArseWithClass.

It's so sad our usually education system has produced something that cannot even comprehend basic English.

But nothings wrong with crying over something highly emotional mate :thumbsup

Nikki_Licks 04-26-2011 07:43 AM

Everyone cries at some point, and there are some who cry less than others....wouldn't say it makes you any less of a man.
Heck I have laughed so hard I was crying and almost pissed myself :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

Never, I'm not a weakling ...

magicmike 04-26-2011 08:07 AM

Sad things yes, happy not so much. I didn't cry at my wedding, but I see lots of guys do it, more so than the ladies. Funerals, deaths etc, sad = tears.

perhaps you misunderstood what I meant... how im not sure...

Obviously its not expected unless youre at their deathbed. BUt as an offspring it is the natural and common way to outlive your parents. Plus, no parent wants to bury their child... it was sort of the point...

Tom_PM 04-26-2011 10:25 AM

Men get embarassed more easily about it because it's unflattering behavior to us.

In certain ways, I don't agree. There are a lot of things that you are more patient with, and less panicked/flustered by, as you get older.

On the other hand, as you get older, two things happen: You have more life experience to draw on in order to realize the true importance of some events in your life, and also, you give less of a crap about what others think of you, so if you do feel like crying, you just do it.

.

He makes Markham seem like a sharp, perceptive professional with a keen grasp of the industry. Without a doubt the weakest link on any forum.
