Does link juice flow through NATS links?

What say you?

Does a link to "nats.paysite.com" count as a backlink to "paysite.com"?

I've heard no because they are redirects based on subdomains, but they keep showing up in my backlink lists and analytics is counting the tour hits as hits to the main domain, they also seem to reduce bounce, at least in google analytics.

well it depends. urls with nats codes are:

1. duplicate content
2. lack of content
3. google dont like to rank galeries anymore

When you have a really strong url and i mean really strong it can happen that your nats url gets indexed for a short or even longer period. but you have to link to just one nats url out of a network with strong internal urls, if you have 10 or hundrets outbound nats urls or normal external links like a TGP and most of all adult websites does your juice is getting spread to much. sometimes its luck to get a nats url listed. Better is, when you mask urls with a 302 redirect with a nice url. Then it can happen that your url is getting listed longer and faster and without any linkjuice.
Another chance is when you are the first one who is promoting the gallery or website. than google is thinking yours is the mother url and all others following are the childs (duplicate content) that leads to that your url gets listed.

I read your answer 3 times and I don't understand it, I am not even sure we are talking about the same thing. Let me ask another way:

I am doing a huge blog project. One of the paysites I am promoting with my blogs is one that I own, I also have NATS.

If I use www.paysite.com in my backlinks from the blog I get linkjuice from the blogs for sure.

But, If I use a nats link instead I can track users better, and more easily see which blogs are driving more sales and converting.

So, all things being equal, will I miss out on linkjuice by using nats links?

There will be a 301 or 302 redirect in between, or more than one, which do pass "link juice" but maybe not 100%. I've read that redirects don't always pass 100% of PR, and I know that when I removed a redirect from some links between my own sites they immediately gained traffic in Google temporarily until it worked out what was going on. So the answer is as far as I know, yes they do but not as much as a direct link.

Parent domains and sub domain's effect on one another?

Last I heard they don't really affect one another for SERPs ...

For search (Google at least) there is little or no consideration of hierarchy. e.g.; domain.com <=> sub domain.com
