Actually that color is very popular among akitas. Also I am not dog expert but figured it could have been a toy akita, man is making some interested new breeds these days, I dont follow.

I don't think it's absurd to think that. Not like there is alot of other breeds that look similar, poms definitely dont look alot like that either. The only reason that pom looks like that is because it's mixed with chow. Poms have a very pointy snout, the one pictured above does not.

not arguing, just saying. i dont think it looks anything more like a pom than an akita besides its small

hard to have guessed chow/pom. i mean, that's a mix between a big dog and a toy size dog. it could have just been as easily mixed pom/akita for all we know, it was one photo. so he could have been right in picking one of the breeds

that one looks like it has a short snout though, so heres another

it's not two times the size. shave the fur off it and it's same size

mix that color with the color of the 5 month old i posted on top of this page and you get a pretty similar looking one

I've seen full grown Akitas, but not puppies. The only breeds I'm very familiar with puppies of are American Eskimos, Pomeranians, and a cross of the two, called either Pomimos or Eskiepoms.

Not saying it's not a pom because it is mixed with one apparently, im just justifying why one might think otherwise.

poms have such tiny little legs and bodies though and the one in the OP looks like it's pretty thick, even without the fur. (thats the chow in it--however could have been easily mistaken as a japanese akita)
