Hoping someone here might have some experience with this. I've been seriously considering moving to Vancouver, BC, Canada. They do allow self employed individuals to immigrate into Canada, but will they have a problem with the fact that my self employment is based on running porn sites?

I figure someone in this community must have been through this at some point, so just looking for some advice.

You shouldn't have to specifically disclose any website to an immigration officer. If you're that worried about it make a dummy site and business card. I travel internationally a lot and have been asked several times what I do and it's never been an issue just leaving it at internet marketing.

LOL! Love some of the responses. I'm thinking I will just start a legitimate dating site. It won't make any money, but it will look like it does. My net worth is already high enough that they will kiss my ass to get me there. I was just worried what they would do if I mentioned porn.

If it wasn't for US customs and border protection, I wouldn't even think of moving. Those bastards detained, humiliated, chained and verbally abused my girlfriend(from Vancouver BC) when she tried to come visit me. They insisted that since I am an adult webmaster and she is hot that she obviously intended to model for my sites. Since she didn't have a work Visa, they gave her an order of expedited removal and kicked her out. That order cannot be appealed and she is now banned from the US for 5 years. All because they assumed something that isn't true. I give up on the US and it's fucked up retarded overzealousness. Love my country... hate the politics.

Anyway, thanks for the responses guys. It helps.

In all seriousness, I know the company behind Utherverse/RedLightCenter/etc. moved the entire company to Vancouver from Las Vegas. They started the moved by having staff in both locations, then converted fully to Vancouver. Not sure what they had to go through or if it was different because they were a company instead of a self-employed person, though...

Traveling and immigrating is not the same ...

To immigrate, he must provide proof that he can purvey to his needs, to not be dependant on the state.
They can and will ask proof of the activity, UNLESS he comes in with 250K+ as a business investment .

Easiest would be to find a job , then proceed with immigration.
Once landed, he can then modify his line of work.

explore your options , but heres one that works.. rather difficult but

find a gf in canada who has a child, apply for custody of the child with the gf's consent. Once you have custody you can apply to be a canadian based on the fact the child is canadian and can't be an american and thus needs you to be canadian to be his/her parent.

it's much easier than trying to marry in.

Or did they find your business card or look at her phone or something like that? Just curious why you would not have had her rehearse that part of her story. I had the same thing happen to one of my gfs, but it was the other way around. She was coming to Canada and she was a model. She brought some sexy lingerie with her. They googled her name and found out what she did for a living.

So they assumed she was coming into Canada so I could pimp her. I never even got to explain my side of things. They humiliated her, interrogated her for hours and just shipped her off back to her country.

Worst part was : she had a Visa. She went through all the proper procedures first before coming and still got sent back home.

Since you're self-employed, and don't need to enter the Canadian job market, it's going to be easier for you to simply go in as a tourist and stay there forever. Nobody is going to give a shit, and Canada doesn't have exit points, so the government won't even know you overstayed your VISA.

Going through the legal channels will be a bitch, and if you do that, get yourself a good Canadian based immigration lawyer. Expect a bill upwards of $5000.

Those that will purchase and run a farm, world class athletes and those individuals that will run a business that benefits the culture of Canada. My legal name is very unique. A search for it turns up only results about me. Unfortunately my processor requires that my name and address be visible in a whois search, so it's very difficult to hide that info.

Don't feel bad, they basically could not pass the police psych exams and written tests. So they had to become the next best thing to harass people. My business requires that I shoot content fairly often. The content I shoot requires a large house with lots of rooms to set up in certain themes. Not something I could move around easily unfortunately.
