Not content with the strikes that took place a few weeks ago, our hero firefighters have been on strike all day again at a time when we are sending most of our troops out to Iraq to fight a war, some now having to stay behind and cover for these 'hard up' firefighters.
Just watched the news where the government are being blamed once again for putting the lives of the public at risk for not giving them the new 'bumper' deal they are seeking. When the army here had to fill in for a full week with poorer equipment and 50 year old fire engine's the managed fine. They are on half of what the firemen get per week. They knew the wage before they chose the occupation so why moan now about how bad the pay is ? Back to work guys because public support has dissapeared.... ![]() |

I thought that these guys deserved more at the start of all this crap. To be fair they are risking their lives every time they go in a blazing building.
After speaking to a friend I found out some new statistics that were shocking, most of the time a firefighter can go through his shift without going to a fire. anyway now that they are fucking around on the picket lines putting all these peoples lives at risk, I say fuck them. If they persist to go on strike for more money, then sack the fuckers!!! To be a fireman is a very tough task, they recruit once every 2 years and i have 3 friends who would give anything to be a fireman! So I agree with you, they knew how much they owuld be paid when applying for the job...... so to now put the countries life at risk is stupidity!!! my ![]() |

You all are some common BITCHES, I was a Firefighter for 10 fucking years! Yea we went shifts without fighting fires, But never a shift without going to bomb threats, amabulance calls, etc... Jezus They risk their lives day in and day out for you sorry bastards and you all get pissed cause they want MORE money, Better Equiptment.
If you never done this job you HAVE NO farking rights judging them for wanting and needing more. Let me see your assess get up all hours of the night to take some dumb bitch on her rag to the hospital cause she don't have a car! argh$@#% Im going back to work. NEVER talk down about firefighters EVER ![]()

ok so you were firefighter and congratulations to you!
these guys take the job cause they want to protect the people and help them.... so they ask for a payrise, 40% to be correct! What right does anyone have to ask for a 40% payrise outright? What they are saying is if we don't get our extra pay we will go on strike! They went on strike for 8 fucking days.... and the army had to cover for them with no special training or the use of the special fire engines they use!!! Once again they are on strike at a time when our country is preparing for war against Iraq! How easy would it be for Iraq to bomb us right now? we would have not enojugh cover to deal with it.... sure the firefighters would help out then but by the time they get ready and everything it would be too late! We have the army covering for our firemen and these guys should be thinking about their own jobs and be out in the middle east preparing!!! Also the firemen were offered a 16% pay rise and then the rest would be given to improve equipment and machinery and they rejected it because they want 40% extra cash per year!!! |

And the pay is fairly good, considering how many days they have to "risk their lives"... I'm sure plenty of other jobs have their own dangers daily that we don't really look at. Not this one obviously |
