Never mind that the song is more than 25 years old and has been played countless times. Never mind that the supposedly offensive word is as old as the hills, and used regularly on TV, in books and movies, and by pretty much every kid on the planet.

That's the airplay version that most people heard, and made it to number one in the US. The entire verse is gone. It was the version released on single here in the US, and is on most of the compilations.

The MTV video has the verse, as does the original Brothers in Arms CD (where the song is over eight minutes long). What's amazing is all these people not noticing the verse was removed from the versions that got played the most over 25 years ago.
