What do you use?
I have hyperhidridosis and botox did not work for me. I am also immunish (yeah I'm making up words here) to many anitiperspirants. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Male sweat boosts women's hormone levels
"In two trials, a total of 48 undergraduate women at UC Berkeley were asked to take 20 sniffs from a bottle containing androstadienone, which smells vaguely musky. Over a period of two hours, the volunteers provided five saliva samples from which cortisol levels were determined.

Compared to their response when sniffing a control odor (yeast), the women who sniffed androstadienone reported an improved mood and significantly higher sexual arousal, while their physiological response, including blood pressure, heart rate and breathing, also increased. This was consistent with previous studies."

I have the same problem and none of the high strength antiperspirants work. I bought some b complex vitamins which aren't really helping either. Maybe I'll try the really high dose ones. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they are supposed to help.

A big part of it is you have to wash your armpits at night before bed and apply the antiperspirant then. It always works better when you start doing it at night, but you still have to use it during the day as well.

Just seal off your pits with rubber cement. You can go a step further and glue a dryer sheet to the glue if you want some extra fragrance.

I can't touch anti-perspirant products. They make me itch and drive me crazy. Old Spice, Mennen Speed Stick, Right Guard all work just peachy keen.

When I used to use Mitchum, my girlfriend bitched that her tongue would dry out after licking my pits.

Bentyl (dicyclomine) - prescribed for IBS but is used off label for excessive sweating

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0000810/

Quote:
you should know that dicyclomine reduces the body's ability to cool off by sweating. In very high temperatures, dicyclomine can cause fever and heat stroke.
A number of bodybuilders use this to control excessive sweating while on certain compounds. I'd say this would be useful to have in your "arsenal;" for example if you have a date or need to head out and don't want to sweat through your shirt. Just don't go and play football or something in 100F weather after taking it.

Here's a quote from a member on another board

Quote:
I have the perfect solution for you. It's called dycyclomine (a.k.a. Bentyl). It's a prescription drug that is prescribed for IBS. One of the side effects though is that it drastically reduces your ability to sweat. I came across this years ago when I was having horrible night sweats while sick. (seems I get them everytime I'm sick). My doctor said he would prescribe me some 10mg dyclomine. He said just take one before bed and you'll be good. So he gave me 90 with a few refills and said, "that should last you for a while". He was right. If I'm ever going through bouts of night sweats, I just take one of those before bed and I'm good. They are not a controlled substance and have no recreational use, so tell your doc what the problem is and unless he's a dickwad and a dipshit, he'll give you a script. Nothing sucks like wakeing up every 10 minutes soaking wet with sweat. Just tell him you have nightsweats every so often and a friend of yours who has the same problem uses these to help quell the issue.

I'm using this rexona stuff which is a cream that you apply before sleep. It's very strange at first to be putting on deo before bed rather than after a shower, but it's working pretty well for me. Doesn't really stop me sweating, but it stops the body odour.

I sweat significantly more from my right armpit. I'm a freak.

Forget anti-perspirant, go for deodorant.

Have you tried PITROK - its popular but I dont think it works as well as LYNX. There are some good deodorants you can get in Body Shop. Its much better.

Some common astringent agents include alum, oatmeal, acacia, sage[3], yarrow, witch hazel, bayberry, distilled vinegar, very cold water, and rubbing alcohol. Astringent preparations include silver nitrate, potassium permanganate, zinc oxide, zinc sulfate, Burow's solution, tincture of benzoin, and vegetable substances such as tannic and gallic acids. Balaustines are the red rose-like flowers of the pomegranate, which are very bitter to the taste. In medicine, its dried form has been used as an astringent.[4] Some metal salts and acids have also been used as astringents.

Had a friend that had that really bad ... stinky armpits ... only thing that took it away was rubbing pure baking soda on them like you'd use talcum powder. The baking soda did the trick for him.

Has the doc asked you about your diet? what you eat will have an affect on how much you sweat and the odor... maybe it is something you eat.

less salt, less junk food and less meat... cow milk will make your sweat gross too, really.

When I'm in a hot climate I can't use spray as it ends up burning if I use it more than once a day... I have been using Nivea roll-one which is great even when you apply it 3 times a day.

I have been hard at work for 3 days and have avoided the shower. I have to nip down the road for a cigarette top up soon. The women will be throwing themselves at me .

That really does look interesting. My arm pits are the least of worries - I sweat from every pore in my body and sprays just do not work.

I moved to Spain and on those 30c+ days I turn to liquid.

I have to wear dark clothes so it doesn't show that I am soaked to skin and that of course makes it worse.
