Private forum for "illegal" matters ??
Hey there,
A post on another board got me thinking of whether there is in fact somewhere, where webmasters can discuss possible sites with illegal content etc.. without it being in the public domain ? ie Is there a Forum which is password protected, that Webmasters can mention sites with possible "illegal" content so they can stop accepting galleries, trades etc.. without putting it on the public domain for all to see. Of cause reporting the site to www.asacp.org/ is one thing, but getting this knowledge to other webmasters is a difficult matter. This possible "forum" could be endorsed by the asacp to make it credible, and prove even more that we are doing our best not to unwittingly enhance this ever increasing problem. I know the majority of forums remove threads with links etc.. to this sort of thing asap, but they cannot be monitored all the time. The last thing we want is our forums, which are so rich of knowledge ( well some anyway Maybe there is such a thing, and also I am sure there are problems concerning security et al, but I would appreciate your thoughts on the matter. jah |

Man, its childish posts like that that give this Industry and forum a bad name.
Fuck all this, "if you cant take it, get outta here bullshit". This is a serious issue, and obviously you are not serious in seeing this Industry survive and prosper. I posted here because this board has the largest user base, and some people that might be "in the know" You are obviously not one of them. |

I think socks was making a good point in a rather blunt way. A site like that is going to attract peadophiles. Who determines who gets access to this sort of information? Isn't what you suggest actually illegal?
I'd stay the hell away from something like this if it ever came about. The only people that should know about these sites are the people reporting them, and the relevant authorities. Definitely a bad idea. |

Ok,
At least there was some input in whether this was a good or bad idea. Well done. Dont you agree though, that there is a problem with this sort of information being in the public domain, when webmasters post links etc.. on message boards. |

Report them to their providers, hosts, whatever. Fighting child porn will always be an ongoing battle in my opinion. The best anyone can do is by taking them one at a time. If you happy by one, report it, and as i said before, contact their bandwidht and hosting providers. |

Choddadog,
I appreciate your post. I knew the idea of a forum would have problems, just wondered whether there was something else in place other than what you mentionned above. Apologise about the rant after Socks' post. Looking back he had a point, just didn't say it in the way I'd of liked. A little too ambiguous for me. |

![]() ![]() How exactly would you like him to say that you just want kiddy porn? Is it some freaky fetish you have? You have to control how someone tells you that you are a fucking pervert? Maybe go find a private message board somewhere and log yourself off. LEAVE THE KIDS ALONE! ![]()

I've started something here, which I wish I hadn't. I'm a relatively new webmaster, but forgot that boards bring anonymity.
Even though this board is the biggest in terms of webmasters, it also must have its fair share of hangers on, sicko's etc.. Therefore the post probably justifies the response it is getting. However, it reiterates the fact that we have to be careful when posting sites with illegal content etc.. on open forums. Bring on the barrage of abuse. I probably deserve it. You live and learn, and when I have finished reading some of the posts, I would have learnt a fair bit about the people who live off this Industry. And gutterboy, if any of you have any Movie or Asian Traffic, get in touch. Cheers for the prompt jah |

I'm no fly-by-nighter bro, check my site out. The whole second reason I started my site was to give the adult industry some recognition and earn some trust with the consumers again.
I have often thought of ways to combat child porn, I even went so far as to call the head of child porn department of Toronto's police, but he said it was very hard for anyone to help other than to report any findings. He mentioned that they are SWAMPED, they have 21 officers working full time, and only managed to bag around 45 people last year out of the 400+ reports they got in. He said they were only able to go after people with operations within Canada, but made an effort to use Interpol as well. I think the best idea I've come up with is having a rogue group of hackers who quietly monitored and or shut down these sites. A nice log of the people's IP's who visit (and BROWSE) these sites might be helpful to the authorities. Simply deleting their files would also be good. The problem is that hackers are expensive, and I just don't know enough that have free time or are willing to risk themselves to help the greater good. Still, I would like to see something like that happen I appologize as well for my earlier post, I was just being uhm.. fecetious. |

Child pornography could be substantially reduced on the net if:
* Freehosts used better methods to automagically identify, (optional verify), terminate, ban & report offenders. * Usenet providers would do the same, as well as dropping newsgroups that obviously cater to that sort of thing based on the group name. Having "full feeds" with erotica groups like *preteen and *young probably isn't the best interest of keeping CP off the net. If those two things were done, I bet more than 50% of the child porn on the net would be done away with - or at least the speed at which it travels the net. I wouldn't think child pornographers would be very interested in paying for hosting with a credit card... so these two "free" methods of hosting & data exchange come to mind. I'm sure it exists on file sharing things like Kazaa, Bearshare or Gnutella.. but again, they would sort of lose their anonominity there. |

But yeah on this CP stuff.. there was a story on the news yesterday... the techie guy they were talking to who was some authoritative figure in the anti-CP world (looked a lot like dugmore, the dreads anyway. Anyone see this?). Anyway, what they asked/suggested was that a lot of people who would normally be appalled by the idea of CP, are lured into checking it out by the tabooness of it & the high availablity of it -- the constant unsolicited spam, the evil TGP popups and stuff. These people would probably NEVER consider distributing it.. well, who knows. But you know what I'm saying. So what you were saying about turning in viewers - thats good no doubt, but I think the bigger problem of course is the creators and distributors of the stuff. If THOSE people were identified (by hackers ), turned in & imprisoned.. then of course CP would damn near screech to a halt. But of course that would require some police agency to be receptive of a situation like that and everything... very doubtful The law just doesn't work like that - effectively. |
